Grades for this years signing class?
Im just curious, how would yall grade this years class after today. For me personally, it's an A. I was hyped to see the players we signed today, which are guys who I think could play a role possibly early on. I really like the RBs we added today, which makes me extremely excited about our RB room going forward

What's above A? If I am limited to A...then ACC, this class looks like it belongs there

I think this is the most 3-star prospects committed ever in one year.

RE: Grades for this years signing class?
I think when you grade an individual class for a team you have the luxury of comparing how it fits with the current roster. Dudes on ESPN or 24/7 don't have that option, they just look on paper how it grades sitting by itself, not mixed with a team.
This class didn't "address" any needs in the Freshman group - they were all addressed with transfers.
Jordan White is probably going to start, or be your 3rd Safety.
Izayah Green-May is probably going to get time at backer or DE. He's going to play a ton. I see him starting at End, but remember at the end of the year we went with some bastardized 3/5 man fronts. He would be on the outside there, the other outside man would be Rayner or someone who just drops. Great pick up.
Thorton/RutDog are great additions to the WR group. Thorton is going to start with Rudolph. Tucker would be my 3rd in that group. RutDog (I vote for this nickname as well) will probably be in on weird plays.
Lynch is going to compete for a backup QB spot.
They were all great. The freshman don't have to be anything, and that's the beauty of this class. Big kids who can grow in to their spots.
Either one of the RBs can take some snaps away from guys.
I see Porter/Alvarado pushing for PT early, but it would be nice to redshirt them at Safety. 2 Solid guys there.
I give this class, for fit, an A. Talent is great too, but these guys fit. I am going to count Lynch as the QB for the class, that's the only spot I like to see Freshman get picked up almost yearly.
None of these kids has to play early - hammock knew that and was able to pick kids who look the part, and can learn the job at practice rather than game day. What a luxury.

As with any signing class the answer is "we'll know in three years", but this class certainly is exciting on paper.
In addition to the names mentioned above I think Reggie Jean could compete early at D tackle.

If we're grading on the curve we're a "B", behind Toledo's number one class.
Of course those lousy NIU recruiting classes translated into 8 MACC appearances in the last 12 years.

247 has us 3rd in the MAC right now but the 2 recruits from Georgia have not been ranked yet. I bet we may end up 1st or 2nd once that happens. Like another poster said the true indication is how we do as a team in 2 or 3 years though

RE: Grades for this years signing class?
I’m going “B” based solely on filling need. Two weak positions are LB and TE. I would like a little more there. Love hitting D-line hard. As to quality it’s all I waiting game.
Look at the ‘20 class. I’d bet the majority of hype was about Fletcher, Jackson, Ducker, Collins, Rogers and Pinckney. Who are all gone or buried on the bench. The bottom of that class was CJ Brown, Waylee, Lafayette, Hugunin and walk-on Rudolph. It’s almost impossible to predict success of these young men.

The signing day special with Hammock was excellent. It’s on YouTube. 45 minutes on this class. A lot of interesting commentary there.
