Interestingly, one of Lipscomb's better players is transferring to UNA - KJ Johnson.

Also, UNA's first D1 recruit and all-around leader Jamari Blackmon has entered the transfer portal along with veteran Aleksa Matic.

I like KJ a lot. When I saw he was in the portal I was hoping JU had a shot. Nice pick up for UNA.

JU's Tyreese Davis (30 mpg/9 ppg/4.6 rpg in ASUN) has entered the Portal. A 3 year starter, plus an injury redshirt year, I believe he will leave JU with a degree and two years to play. We wish Tyreese the best.

Also, UNF's Josh Berenbaum is in the Portal.

JU's Rod Brown has entered the Portal. Brown a 6-7 Post player averaged 2.9 ppg as a backup in his one season at JU after transferring in from New Mexico State. He will be a Grad transfer.

The Jacksonville record number of points in a game came 12/3/70 vs St Peter's. The final was 152 to 106.

Two All Time individual JU records also still stand from that game. Artis Gilmore had 34 rebounds and Ernie Fleming scored 59 points. I doubt if any of these records will ever be broken.

Best of Luck to St Peter's in reaching the Final Four

How many points did Artis Gilmore have in that game?

A good question, I don't have that answer as I do not have a box score for that game.

Gilmore did score 46 vs St Peter's the year before. That is among the Top 10 game scoring performances in JU history.

Jacksonville's Jordan Mincy was named the recipient of the 2022 Joe B. Hall Award. The award is given to the top first year coach in D1 college basketball. Other finalists included Hubert Davis (UNC), Tommy Lloyd (Arizona) and Mike Woodson (Indiana). JU won 21 games for the 1st time since 1986 and was undefeated at home. In the ten years prior to Mincy's arrival JU went 129-181. JU was picked 10th out of 12 teams in the ASUN preseason polls.
