If recent history is any indicator, we do well with walk-on WR's.

He's too tall. C.C. does best with smurf sized WRs... 03-lmfao

This leads me to an important question, I think.

Does EMU run game suffer with all of these smurf sized receivers? They are excellent pass catchers but whom can 174 lbs. receivers BLOCK???

Just thinking out loud.

I think the running game suffers for more existential reasons - why spend time focusing on the run when you can use undersized slot receivers on short routes to set up the deep pass?

True. It is easier to get 6 yard from Bryant to Beduin than by running up the gut.

Maybe for teams that can’t run the ball but for teams that play against us, it’s easier to run the ball and rest their defense.

using short passes as a substitute for a running game is literally the thesis for the west coast offense - so lets not act like this sort of thing doesnt have a track record.

Call the offense what you want, all I’m saying is if we can’t run the ball (we’re last in the conference) and can’t stop the run ( I think we’re close to last in the conference) then 6-6 is the ceiling.

I think you're half right - the defense needs to step up better against the run.

Miss St. doesnt run the ball and they are just fine. also purdue. also nevada.

I don't have a list of whom, but there are a few guys coming in this weekend for their official visits. The team has a practice scheduled for Saturday. Could see some verbal commits coming out of the weekend.

Thanks. Most of the recent new offers are in the WR group by Coach Fleming. Maybe we have some WR hitting the transfer portal at some point.

I’ve been biting my tongue but oh my god their record is literally better than that.

This message board is the best. I half expect us to argue about how many days of the week there are sometimes.

That depends on whether you are talking about the work week or calendar week. 03-lmfao

RE: 2022 Football Commits

Well guys, we are 2 weeks away from early siging period. 247Sports coverage of MAC recruiting is average at best and mails it in like Athlon Sports for pre-Season MAC coverage, 'just throw a 6-6 record and tell us how hard it is at Ypsi'.

I am really interested in knowing how many we sign and most importantly how do we attack the portal.

Questions for the board...
1. If I was a H.S. athlete today I would absolutely commit to Creighton early not knowing how many guys might come in via Portal. Only so many spots. Do portal guys come in during the early signing period?

2 Do you guys think we can finish in the top 4 of the MAC for recruiting finally?

1. Yes they could enroll in January and be eligible to play spring ball. Neathery appears to be at the beginning stages of looking at the portal.

2. No and the reason why is that CC is picky about who he recruits. He does excell at improving who he recruits. Also I think the number of scholies for this class is compressed ie small unless more players leave. Some of those spots may also be filled later.

Lastly as coaches move around taking different jobs guys who were verbally committed become uncommited

Just remember, we can NOT reuse for 2nd semester the freed up scholarships from our two transfer losses.

They can be reissued as 2022/3 scholarships.

We are NEVER going to be in top 4 of MAC recruiting. I am not going to bore any of you with a lengthy explanation of why, I just accept that fact.
