XFL/CFL Merger?
https://www.espn.com/xfl/story/_/id/3103...turn-field
A merger is not the topic of the article but...what if? The CFL has been around since 1958 and has toyed around unsuccessfully with U.S. teams. That being said, the recent struggles within the CFL may bring to light the need to move a different direction.
This is like a rapidly moving process similar to the merger of the NFL/AFL.
Teams:
Canada: BC (Vancouver), Calgary, Edmonton, Hamilton, Montreal, Ottawa, Saskatchewan (Regina), Toronto, Winnipeg
US: Dallas, DC, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, Seattle, St. Louis, Tampa Bay
That’s 17 teams. Not a bad place to start.

RE: XFL/CFL Merger?
Would the XFL adopt the CFL's rules? (i.e. larger field size, three downs, the rouge, etc...).
Personally, I'm happy with the CFL just sticking to Canadian markets. Getting in the mix with the XFL seems risky.

Hmm... you may have something here.
I'm thinking we also flood the CFL fields, freeze them, and give all the players ice skates. Now that's pretty Xtreme.

RE: XFL/CFL Merger?
Two leagues that only the champions meet in a final game?
Full on merger or call up leagues?
Which set of rules will be adopted?
I do think that the summer schedule the CFL plays would be better than the icy cold February starts that these spring football leagues keep insisting on.
