Lovely Night at Plumeri Park
The College put its best foot forward yesterday afternoon and evening.

The team beat Charleston, 5-2 and played some of the season's most scintillating infield defense before a large crowd, but the day belonged to the 20rh Anniversary celebration of Plumeri Park.

Close to 80 former Tribe baseball players and their families were invited back and it was great to see them all lined up along the right field foul linebefore the game as Joe Plumeri threw out the first ball at the behest of no less than President Rowe!

Coach Murphy had some of the players come over and visit with the baseball alumni earlier in the afternoon, a nice gesture that was enjoyed by all.

All the old players...who represented every decade of W&M baseball since the 1950s...received beautiful W&M Baseball zip up jackets. And the College went one better than that--it gave every fan who attended the game a special 20th Anniversary W&M baseball hat.

A big win, too, for our team in this critical series, sparked by, as I mentioned, remarkable defensive plays, as well as good pitching and a towering, Ruthian-like =2-run home run over the right field fence.

Great win for the team!

Great event for the baseball program; Joe and others saved the program here.

Did you get a chance to get the OTOD MBB numbers from the administrators in attendance?

Was Tony’s son, the baseball alum, in attendance?

Being a former W&M Indian baseball player from the 70’s, I chose not to attend. I took the advice of some on here, and stayed away, for fear of not biting my tongue to any administrator in attendance. This was baseball’s night.

I’ll be at the game today.
