If Pitino was hired by FIU, the NCAA will put them on probation within 6 months is my prediction. They already want to do something to Pitino but they didn't want to harm a Big 5 school. Pitino at FIU would be a perfect set-up for the crooks at the NCAA.
They made Louisville vacate their 2013 men's basketball title.

That doesn't really hurt anyone. A record book doesn't have feelings.

Did that take away the joy and elation those players felt when they won the title, nope. Did they take away the touney money they earned then, nope (because they would have to take away from the entire conference). Did they award the national title game to Michigan, nope. Did the schools on the other side get wins, nope.
Vacating wins does nothing to a school, its a cop out plain and simple. All it done was take away a few wins for Pitino. I would assume most of his wins should be vacated, you know if he was doing it at Louisville he done it also when working in Lexington.

Better check the facts...and it wasn't just money from 2013.
Louisville must vacate men’s basketball records in which student-athletes competed while ineligible during the 2011-12 through 2014-15 academic years according to a decision issued by the NCAA Division I Infractions Appeals Committee. The appeals committee also upheld the NCAA Division I Committee on Infractions penalty that requires the university to return to the NCAA money received through conference revenue sharing for its appearances in the 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championships.

Even if Louisville will have to return credits, it will be their portions no way are they going to take the conference share. The Big East/AACk whatever it was then would slap a lawsuit on the NCAA if they tried to do that.
Truth is Louisville's whole Athletic dpt should have been fired. That means from top to bottom, AD Tom Jurich to their jump rope coach if they have one.

You are correct. When Memphis got slapped with "strict liability," the school had to return its' portion of monies received for the affected year. The conference share remained intact.

This will make 13/14 programs that have changed coaches since the creation of CUSA 3.0. I imagine Jones seat will start heating up if he doesn’t produce an NCAA tournament appearance this up coming season.

It ought to be warm now. If we don't see the NCAA next season it should be burning his bottom.

Rumors that Austin Peay HC Matt Figger is the leading candidate for the job. If so, I would be pretty happy. Figger is the 2018 OVC Coach of the Year and comes from the Frank Martin coaching tree. Let's see what happens.

That would be a great hire IMO. In his one year at Peay he took a team picked near last in the OVC preseason and finished 3rd with very few returning guys. I remember watching him against WKU early in the year and being very impressed with the grit on that team. They were just over matched.
The conference did very well in hiring new bball coaches this year. With Tony Bennet disciple Ron Sanchez at Charlotte, May at FAU, Terry at UTEP, McDevitt at MTSU, and hopefully Figger at FIU I think all these programs will rise up in play significantly and challenge the top teams (and MTSU will soon be back on top). I also think LA Tech will soon be back on track under Konkok who learned from one of the best in Jim Larranaga.

I don't want to question Gulfcoastgal because as a Memphis fan she is in a better position than I am to know about this, but I think the NCAA units are assigned to a school, and conferences have deals to share them so the rising tide can lift all boats. I am not sure that the NCAA wouldn't suspend all future payments for Louisville (you get payouts over a six year period), and require them to repay earlier distributions. That would also cut the conference out of future payments, and I suspect the ACC would tell Louisville the entire repayment is up to them. Just my guess. Of course maybe the ACC is now sharing fines too, since so many of their schools get them.
