Tulsa vs Tulane
The Tulsa Offense is based on a balanced attack. Lose one of either throwing or running and Tulsa becomes one dimensional. Especially with no passing attack Tulsa loses to Tulane by at least 2 TD's. Except for Hobbs no WR's are catching balls, even when it hits them in the hands. The RB's catch better than most of the WR's. Tulsa will need to make a change at QB to recover any confidence for the rest of the season. Personally I don't see another win on Tulsa's schedule. New Mexico was Tulsa's best chance at a second win. I see Tulsa with one win for 2017. Tulsa to get embarrassed.

The TU v Tulane gametime has been changed because of possible bad weather. It will now be played at 11am instead of 3pm. That probably knocks them off the TV schedule as well. So listen to Bruce and Rick on 99.5fm if you aren't going to NOLA.

Well, it was a good day for Tulsa......we finally have a QB that can throw the ball downfield.....now we have a two prong offense, although Skipper was hurried or chased around most of the time but that's the OL's fault.....maybe they will get more practice pass blocking now. If they get better at that, we should have a decent offense.......so if we can score 70 points in a game we might win another game this year because the defense is probably going to allow 69 points in most games. I have NO hope for the defense......But it might be worth watching if Skipper keeps throwing the long ball.

Yeah, if they don't start Skipper against Houston they're crazy. Even if he doesn't know the offense as well at least he has the physical ability to run it. The mental part will come with more experience.

RE: Tulsa vs Tulane
I think us losing Brubaker and Shindelar has really hurt. It was a freak accident when they collided. so the opponent didn't do it, we did it to ourselves.
But you all are probably right about QB position. We may have to adopt a 2 QB mindset.
Our chances of going to a bowl are almost zero now. But I always look to how the schedules are laid out and ours was not put together for success this year with an almost impossible road game to win to start off (OSU), a mysterious travel non-revenue game to Ohio early on and these option offenses hitting us where are are weakest at corner and the interior DLine. Most successful teams win their first game and with our schedule laid out with a possible top 10 OSU first, it was almost inevitable we would have a problem. Rule #1 is to not start the season with a loss - period. It creates a lack of confidence that lasts well beyond that game. Our season was successful last year because we started it off well against SJS. The scheduler needs to learn from this.
IMO
To have any chance, we'd have to upset some league teams and that probably won't happen now. Oh well, at least we aren't OU this week.

Coach just waited too long to make a switch at QB. That is on him totally.
