I hope we find a way to keep him. There was an article a week or so ago noting he was impressive, but the Ravens are deep at that position. Agree. I also saw that they want him to get in the weight room so he can better set the edge against the run. He's listed at 224 which is a big ask to be an effective run stopper in the NFL. Would love to get him on the Ravens practice squad. The expansion of the practice squad to 16 will hopefully work in his favor.

Or stuff him on the IR for a season and let him bulk up.

I think if there had been a pre-season and he done fairly well he would not have cleared waivers. With other teams not being able to even see him as a UDFA it is hard to take that chance.

We got a callout in the FCS section for having the most. Also interesting to see who we tied and are ahead of as far as FBS teams:
7: ASU, Baylor, BYU, CSU, NW, SDSU, Syracuse, Washington
6: Duke, GT, USF, WKU
5: Appy, Arizona, GSU, ISU, KSU, Marshall, NIU, West Mich

Not going to analyze it right now, but nearly all of the schools with more than 7 are P5. For JMU to start the season with 7 on rosters and a couple more that could be called up at any point during the season is incredibly impressive. It used to be that having 2-3 was exciting.

Not a bad recruiting tool.

I think at least 5 of the 7 are Mickey recruits. Moreland came in with Withers, but I don't recall if he had already committed before the coaching change. DiNucci was obviously Houston.

Teams were permitted 16 players on the Practice Squad instead of the usual 10. Each week they are also permitted to protect 4 of them from being poached. Week 1 the Cowboys are going with:

Cowboys protected practice squad players in week 1: LB Francis Bernard, DB Deante Burton, DE Ron'Dell Carter, and RB Sewo Olonilua.
