Seriously though, I'd really appreciate if anyone knew which thread had the post that DiNucci was only playing in 2018 cause coaches didn't want Cole to get hurt. I feel like that thread would be a nice read right now.
Good call! That may be the 2018 New Hampshire in-game thread. I believe it was around that time.

Listen, I like Ben as much as the next guy but he was not even a finalist for the Walter Payton award just a few months ago and now we have him clearly beating out Andy and Dak c'mon... And the talk of Dak bolting is a little silly. The team has offered him 30 million dollars! It is not like they are going to go from offering to make him one of the highest paid QB's to kicking the guy out the door. He can't bolt for 3 more years if the Cowboys don't allow him to. Dak would have to follow the same path as Cousins which is a multi-year process. And one huge difference is that the redskins did not seem all that excited about Cousins but Jerry and the 'boys have been fawning over Dak for years. They are in love with the guy and there is no chance they let him walk away. If the Cowboys were really upset at Dak they could just rescind the offer but of course that has not happened because a 26 y/o pro bowl QB does not grow on a tree I would bet every cent I have that Dak plays in Dallas next year and the year after and the year after, barring major injury, nobody just moves on from a young QB like this that you're building your franchise around. The guy was the QB of the #1 offense in the NFL last year. But sure they will probably move on from him and any chance of Jerry's next ring because he did not sign the offer fast enough? Jerry always gets his guy and there is no rush right now to do anything quickly. Dak will sign within the next 6 weeks. Dalton will back up Dak and wait for next offseason where there should be lots of starting positions around the league and Ben will hopefully stick on as the 3rd string/PS guy and if everything goes well move into the backup role next season but c'mon we're not seriously saying he is taking over what most experts are saying is a top 3-5 offense in the NFL this season are we? I mean I think most experts would not pick Joe Burrow to start over Dak right now but we are saying Ben will?
NFL.com released their rankings of 2020 QB's and Dak was 7 just in front of Aaron Rodgers. Andy Dalton was 29th. If Ben replaces Dak we are saying he is essentially a top 5 NFL QB...
Not going to argue with anything you said but the bolded. Being a Payton finalist means nothing as far as the NFL. Joe Flacco wasn’t a Payton finalist at UD either, despite UD making the NC game that yr. And Flacco was a 1st Rd pick with a Super Bowl ring. It shows you how much of a joke the award is when either weren’t finalists.

100000% sarcasm for sure
It was on point, and pretty close to what some were saying the past 2 years. Nooch leaves some awfully big shoes to fill. Won't be shocked if we go even more run heavy next season (whenever it is).
Rashad may be able to capitalize on the mistakes of Quinten Dunbar and DeAndre Baker and work his way onto a roster. While it most likely wouldn’t propel him to the full roster, it does potentially push two (or more) guys up and make room on a practice squad.
Hoping he gets his chance to prove himself and put the injury behind him.
Those two are fairly high on Ben. They see him making the Cowboys roster this year. I will be watching Cowboys preseason games if he does.
Ben has the opportunity to learn under Dalton. That is big.
Ben has the skill set to make it in the pro game. He made a quantum leap from his junior to senior year. If he can adjust to the speed of the pro game and not has a bunch of turnovers, I see him sticking in the NFL for many years. He may never become a full time starter but being a career back up isn’t a bad gig.
I believe Ben will get his chance someday. It may take a few years, but talented QBs are in short supply, and if there isn’t an opening with the Cowboys, eventually someone else will be interested in giving him a shot.
Hope he gets some snaps in preseason. Any game time opportunities are huge career wise.

Exactly. The stars have a habit of aligning in favor of obscure quarterbacks in Dallas. I also believe Nooch will get a shot, if not in Dallas, then somewhere else. He is, indeed, a fine quarterback.
And, in response to Nation, it may have looked like Nooch improved a ton from 2018 to 2019, but the major improvement was in his offensive line and the change in coaching. The more I think about Houston's last year, the more I recognize what a train wreck it was, coaching-wise, especially offensive coaching. The line sucked, the playcalling sucked, and here we had a quarterback with Nooch's skills, and OC Kirkpatrick suddenly came down with amnesia, insisting Nooch remain in a pocket that typically imploded within a second, then run for his life, when a good mix of designed runs for Nooch would have kept the D honest. Horrible playcalling! Houston should have made Kirkpatrick watch the NC State game tape every day. Houston was smart and got out while he could. Nooch's career would not be where it is today if Cig hadn't come along.

I used to blame the Colgate loss on DiNucci, with time and further understanding, i now know how grossly negligent Houston was in preparing for that important game.

I hate that I agree with you.
On the plus side for Houston he made himself a lot more money- maybe as us financial difficulties and the fact that they are still paying for the last guy give Houston more time to succeed at Ecu. I guess there is a chance they cut his budget or ask him to take a pay cut though.

Dukeman finally makes a relevant and factual statement. It must be the end of the world.
