RE: Pro Dukes
I count 6 FCS and 4 D2. Nearly as many D2 as FCS.

7 FCS as Elon's Udoh is selected by the Vikings. Coach Cignetti can take credit for that one.

Man I hope Jimmy gets drafted. I really think he belongs. Right now I’m worried it’s not happening.

The Giants have drafted 2 Corners, so we don't have to worry about their DB position Coach screwing him up.

Well, 7th pick of the 6th round the Giants just drafted their 3rd CB, and 20th CB taken in the draft, from Div II Washburn.
Gettleman is a complete idiot. Seriously 3 CBs? Beacuse Opie doesn't need any protection up front. Wow wasted picks.

He is better off not getting drafted at this point. He has a better opportunity picking the right situation as a FA to increase his odds of making a 53 man squad.

Yeah the thought occurred to me. Being picked in the 6th round doesn’t tend to stick. I do think he deserved to be picked ahead of a lot of the CB’s who have been picked ahead of him though.

Skrosky didn't coach his senior season. If Skrosky was still there, guaranteed that Udoh isn't an NFL draft pick.

3 CBs in the last 4 picks, including Niners taking 1. 21 CBs now drafted. 6th Rd almost over, no Moreland..

Yeah I'm starting to think he's not going to get drafted too. There's even better ranked CB's ahead of him on ranking boards that are also still waiting.

8 DB's taken in the 6th round so far. At this point, teams are also looking for who might be able to help them in special teams.

A Shrine Bowl and Senior Bowl invite ,along with playing well at these appearances, really paid dividends in the draft. I am sure it did help with a FA signing though. He will be singed very quick tomorrow.

RE: Pro Dukes
What is up with all these compensatory pick? (Again haven’t watched the draft in 15-20 years). Count 32 compensatory in rounds 3-7. With 32 teams, If they got rid of the compensatory picks and added an 8th Rd, it would be about the same 256 picks..

RE: Pro Dukes
6th round now over, no call yet for Moreland. Of the 4 CBs still remaining on NFL.com that are graded ahead of Moreland, don’t know if any are projected slot like Moreland is. All 4 are bigger. 3 of them are 5’11”-6’1”, 199-201. One is from Bama, 1 from Clempson, and the kid from SDSU.
Fields from Texas might be the closest in size to Moreland, but he’s still listed 13 lbs heavier.
The kid from Kentucky has the same 5.29 grade as Moreland but is listed at 6’5”/199.
If they take Jordan Brown from SDSU abead of Moreland that would be a crock. Watching the Senior Bowl, of the doz or so I-AA players that played, Brown stuck out as being the worst.
-Got torched by WVU WR on a long ball.
-Then by beat on a slant route by the same WVU WR for a TD.
-Later beat by a different WVU WR for a TD.

It always baffles me how teams draft players for positions that aren't even one of their listed needs. Do draft picks grow on trees?

The SDSU CB Brown is on Mel's Top 10 remaining players. We all know Mel dictates how scouts operate, so if he says Brown is a better option, 32 of 32 GMs will agree.

RE: Pro Dukes
Morelands problem is his size measureables- 5’10”/179. Most of the drafted corners have been 5’11”-6’1”, weight 190s to low 200s. Maybe only 1-2 drafted that were as short as 5’10”. Don’t know if any have weighed less than low 190s. Heck, one was listed at 6’3”, I think 213..

Yes. This is the main reason why so many teams are passing on him.

And the Vikings take Fields with the 3rd pick, 7th Rd..
