Pretty sure at this point everyone knows that Jimmy is about 5'9" and 175 pounds and it is not a secret. Strength drills don't matter as much for a DB and I think he would do well in drills related to lateral quickness, etc. The other thing the combine does is get him in front of all 32 teams which is a big deal.

Curious where you’re getting the “about 5’9” stat from. He’s not 5’9”...between 5’10” and 5’11” perhaps, but if he’s 5’9” you’ve got a scoop.
Well you know in college they use those special tape measures that add an inch, special scales thet add 5-10 lbs, and special stopwatches that subtract 1-2 tenths off 40 times..

All true, but 5’9” is not what’s being reported out of the practices at the All-star game, nor does it jive with my own eyes watching JM play for the last 4 years.

Again, he’s not 5’9”...under 6’ yes, and smaller than the measurables the NFL prefers, but come on, the need to exaggerate apparently runs both ways with some JMU fans.

I will try and find the article, but I believe he was measured at 5'9" and 7/8ths.

I think that was the measurements for Kyler Murray.

RE: Pro Dukes
So he's about 5'10. I still think he should get an invite to the combine, and even if he doesn't, I believe he will get drafted come April (it's still in April right? The NFL loves changing it so damn much).

You guys would rather argue than eat. Regardless of how tall JFM is, he shut down a 6'4" Jake Weineke against SDSU last year.

RE: Pro Dukes
I spoke to Jimmy and his parents at the team hotel before the 2017 National Championship game. They live about 30 minutes from us in FL. I am 5' 8" and as I recall Jimmy was not much taller than me. When I lived in Atlanta I coached track at Oglethorpe University and we hosted a dual meet with Fort Valley State. They had a sprinter (that also happened to be on their football team) named Tyrone Poole. I had never heard of him but before the meet started I heard he was about a 10.6 100m guy and he blazed to the win in the 100. Pool was about 5' 8" and maybe 185 and had a 10+ year NFL career as a cornerback. Jimmy reminds me a lot of Tyrone Poole but maybe a little lighter (he can probably add 5-10 lbs of muscle). Jimmy "plays bigger" than he is and he knows how to tackle bigger players in addition to his cover skills and I think the scouts know this.

Does it bother anyone else that there was no JMU logo on JFMs helmet?

I think there was, but only one one side for some reason. And yes, it bugs me that the logo was only one one side. I mean...why?

According to this, players at the game will trade helmet logos. Maybe Jimmy traded one of his.

If that's the case, then we should have sent him down with a suitcase full of JMU helmet stickers. 04-cheers

I didn't get to see the game. How did Jimmy do overall on his coverage assignments? I did see his missed FG return which was nice.

RE: Pro Dukes
I thought he played well. They didn't really throw his way. I didn't see them throw at him at all when he was playing man, and only maybe once or twice when he was in zone.

He caught a punt at one point and the announcer said he was from "little James Madison". Then later in the broadcast the announcer clarified that JMU's not little and mentioned that his brother went there so it sounded like he was just making a joke. It was either Andrew Siciliano or Daniel Jeremiah. Siciliano's from Reston and Jeremiah went to App State.

Was the "little james madison" description referring to the FCS brand of football?

That's huge. Validation. Do well this week in practices and his stock moves him up into potential 2nd day draft projections (read: Rounds 2-3).

No, he mentioned JMU's 21,000 students as why it wasn't "little James Madison".
