Redshirt Jr DE Devin Cook Transferring from Pitt to W&M
Via Twitter :

Devin Cook 6'4 240lbs

Played sparingly and was hurt most of the season. Unsure of his impact.

Ummm, this may be great news or hurt our chances at recruiting Kithcart.

Saw the tweets, but unusual, since Richmond had a press release a week ago announcing Cook was transferring there. Possible that the tweeters got William & Mary on the brain by mistake??

Richmond, also, just picked up a highly rated dual threat QB from GA who decommitted from JMU.

I thought Kithcart was more of a DT. Cook plays DE. Besides, if this guy is a Jr, it shouldn't effect the decision of an incoming freshman who may or may not redshirt.

If he is coming to us and stays healthy, I have to imagine he'd make a big impact. He played in all 13 games at Pitt as a freshamn, and had 8 TFLs

Hmm. I would think that a Richmond press release would be more accurate than some casual tweets. I will assume he is going to UR until proven otherwise.

At first glance I thought that said "Dalvin Cook" and I was like "Whoooaaa".

Cook is listed on UR's roster, so he's giong there and not here.

Wonder why we don't seem to get too many FBS transfers

UR has added 3 transfers. They seem to go after FBS transfers year after year. One FBS transfer I remember that made an impact for us is Kenny Lambiotte from Uva. We had a QB from UNC, but he hurt his shoulder.

Yes, that was Paulus and he got hurt on a cheap hit against UNC on the last play of the game and never recovered. Some could argue our QB fortunes have not really recovered since, although there may be some hope with Cluely. Certainly since that game which saw 2 QB's go down, we have had significant injuries until this past season with Cluely.

We seem to prefer to hold scholarships for walk-ons that prove themselves vs. transfers. That strategy has paid dividends.

We've had a steady, but small number of transfers. The 2014 team had Frank Tamakloe from Wisconsin, Keith McBride from Navy, and Christian Reeves from Va Tech. LB Coach Joe Brady was a transfer from Air Force. Transferring into W&M is not easy.
