I've visited 3 times.

Statesboro as a city isn't a place people tend to visit. I'd wager that when GSU alums visit they prefer to stay in Savannah.
How much of Statesboro have you actually seen?

It is a town of 30k and can't be more than 10 miles across, so I'd assume all of it.

I really don't like any town of less than 50k that is 25-50 miles from the ocean.

And you also like cold, snowy, icy, windy winters. Your favorite hobby is shoveling snow at 7:00 in the morning. Add that to the list.

I prefer warm weather, but that's just me.

You must hate a lot of towns including Boone then.

Which Ocean is Boone within fifty miles of????

I don't live in Boone, I visit it on vacation. Boone is not a good place to live all year round.

I plan to retire up there in the months of April - November and live in a town like Charlotte the rest of the year.

I prefer warm weather too, to live in. I've been to Boone numerous times, several times when I first started skiing. Actually learned to ski or rather skate at Sugar Mountain on that wet, hard, icy sleet they normally have there. Did not return after I discovered real snow out west. As far as just visiting there, I don't hate the place but there are a lot more appealing mountain areas than Boone to me. Except for the games there is really no reason I would ever go there.
