Just listen to Terry on the radio. He said scheduling is very important for G5 schools to get ranked. Most G5 schools will start scheduling tougher.

He said that was the main reason we are talking to BYU. Both sides agree that G5 schools are going to have to start scheduling together if they want to have a chance to crack the access bowls. Its no longer about convincing someone to come to Jonesboro...its about the understanding that we have to work together if we plan to grow.

I wonder how much loner it will be before other G5 schools drop FCS scheduling. From listening to Terry, the UCA game is a favor being done because of our relationship with their Athletic Department, and was scheduled with the knowledge that the game might not happen again for a while. He's admittedly nervous about playing an FCS even that year because of the playoff situation.

Terry said playing an FCS will hurt your chances of getting in the access bowl. The P5 know this and will be looking to the G5 for games. The FCS will soon be a forgotten division.

Not likely. Any school needing to rebuild or rehab their image is still going to look down to get games they feel confident about winning.

I expect the top schools in the P5 and G5 won't play FCS very often and the top P5 probably won't play a lot of G5 games.

Texas St will play a FCS every year because our AD is lazy and knows its an easy home game to get. He will claim that getting FBS home and homes is too hard to get other thna one per year. Then blame fans for not showing up anyway.

I wish our AD had the balls that ASU, UL, ULM, and USA AD have when it comes to scheduling. I'm happy we have upcoming home and homes with Houston and Tulsa but ya'll keep getting P5 schools and I'd like to see that.

For the next 3-4 years I also see Ga. Southern playing 1 FCS at home each year also. The philosophy we seem to be on right now has us playing 2 "money games" per year, 1 FCS at home and 1 home/home vs. another G5. So that gives us 5 home games 1 year and 6 the next. I think the years we play Ga. State in Atlanta we probably have 5 home games and when we play Ga. State at home we have 6.

They just will not get many P5 games anymore as the weak / weaker P5's will scream like lil beatches anytime the SEC or ACC schedules one which in turn will force them not too. The majority of the FCS games will be against the G5 we will still need them as long as they count for one win. Their budgets just got hurt but the G5's have a little more leverage now at least.
