So you're saying that more college baseball fans could relegate realignment threads to a couple of weeks in July?

Why is the list of schools odd?

Take no offense... I literally thought you were joking when you had some of these schools listed. The list of schools you mention seem to just be pulled from nowhere. 3 haven't even started playing yet. Kennesaw State is commuter school that will be lucky to draw 8k fans to a game, in Atlanta, because most of the kids there either are home or working on the weekends. Coastal is so far out that travel makes no sense except for Ga Southern. The goal, from I understand, is to find App St a travel buddy. Eastern KY is the only option on your list. Just my opinion, but you know what those are like...

No offense taken my friend. I was trying to take a long view (looking 8 years out) based upon the information shared on the forum. EKU and Coastal were not on my radar until discussed a few months ago.

I think you are right about EKU; however, they will need at least two years to transfer to FBS. So if I had to choose at the moment, I still prefer Missouri State. Then the SBC should focus on restarting UTA football.

Actually, Texas-Arlington needs to "focus" on re-starting football.

a lot of us uta grads will agree with that. the new baseball and softball buildings will begin construction right after this season ends so maybe people around here will start rumbling about football again. they have been working on some improvements over at maverick stadium so maybe there is something afoot that they just cant talk about yet. I will try to be optimistic but it has been quiet since arrival of new president.

I meant to place this here

The Best Option for SBC football is to go ahead and invite:

1. Missouri State - start playing in 2016
2. Texas Arlington (restart fully) - start playing in 2018
3. Florida Gulf Coast - start playing in 2018 (they have support)

still doesn't make sense why uta keeps parking its scooter at sbc fb tailgating parties if it has absolutely no intention of going into the stadium...

Yeah, it's an unfinished 1AA stadium. I believe the original intention was to expand the structure in phases. It's narrow (70 yards wide, from 15 yd to 15 yd lines), so it appears tiny, but it is very deep (perhaps 70-80 yards deep at the hypotenuse). I'm sure there are other stadiums nearby which could be utilized if the football thing ever happens.

Well I will confess, UTA needs to add football. I have family in Mansfield. We can all play in AT&T stadium (aka Jerry's World) 2.2 miles from campus.

Go Mavs!

Yeah, but like Ga State, 80% of the stadium would be empty. I wish Ga State would NOT play in the Ga Dome and have their own stadium (old Turner Field location) then build on once the crowds got bigger. Unless the Peach Bowl or HBCU Classic is being played there, college football should stay out of the Ga Dome. The sound system's volume is way too loud when you only have 8K - 10K fans there. It's set for at least 50K fans to absorb...
