EMU's first game against a ranked men's team (number 10) on the road before returning home to honor Ben Braun.

The starting lineup for FAU should be:

Vladislav Goldin 7'1 Jr.
Nick Boyd 6'3 So.
Johnnell Davis 6'4 Jr.
Brandon Weatherspoon 6'4 Sr.
Bryan Greenlee 6'0 Sr.

FAU is 1-0 after beating Chicago Loyola.

Holy hell! What is the line on this one? 40.5?

Ran into Vlad at the store the other day. Looks like he's put on 5-10 lbs from the end of last season. Has to be 245-250 lbs range at 7'1". These guys have been focused on returning to the Finals and putting in the work to get there.

I attended the game last year in Ypsilanti when they destroyed us. I ignored the fact that we were a "dumpster fire" because I saw how great they were and attributed our loss to that fact. While they were indeed fabulous, however, we just plain stunk as well.

Additional note: For those of you who like to label positions, SG, PG, SF, PF and C, look at that lineup. I see a C and a whole lot of guys who just play basketball.

It is really cool to see a mid-major being a legitimate threat to win it all!

I am definitely happy for FAU, and wish them the best carrying the banner for the mid majors. Not looking forward to playing them. They will be hanging their final four banner that night. So I am expecting them to be more pumped up by the fan fare and all.

I know that was tongue in cheek, but the actual line is 25.5. 03-weeping

They'll have no trouble covering that number.

Yeah it’s probably going to be ugly. They are easily one of the best teams in the country. Just get out here with no injuries. We have 6 straight winnable games following this one, and hopefully Lovejoy will be back for them.

If we can keep them under a hundred it should be considered a good job done

RE: EMU at Florida Atlantic November 14 - Luckeyone - 11-14-2023 12:30 PM

If Stan were on track to fielding a team that could win a MAC Championship then I would expect a year 3 team to keep the game within 20-25 points. I believe Kent, Akron and Toledo could keep the game within 20 points.

My prediction

EMU 57
Florida 93

That would be a good guess.

Late in the second half: them 90. Us 50.

Poor showing

100 - 57 shellacking

Sam, my very admired poster, basketball does not have the "body bag" games like football. Acuff might get hurt, but it is not going to be because he is a running back going into a D-Line filled with future NFL behemoths with bad intentions.

Your sentiments, otherwise, are correct. Keep the game competitive and move on.

We’re going to have a bad case of anal prolapse after this one.

RE: EMU at Florida Atlantic November 14 - emu79 - 11-15-2023 05:01 AM

no surprises the schedule is a mix of D2 games tough games like this one and Michigan and more mid major games. Cleveland St at home will be a good test.

RE: EMU at Florida Atlantic November 14 - KPJ - 11-15-2023 06:37 AM

Detroit Mercy played Ole Miss really tough last night and lost by ONE. Looks like Stone is going to be their guy. That should be an interesting game too.
