Seven games with both teams ranked, conference play for most now in full swing, let's go!

I have to give Rutgers props while I can. 69 yd passing td on the first drive at Michigan, followed by a Michigan punt. Nice start.

CINCY WR out of bounds, called a catch. Video review "confirms" catch. Yeah, the B12 has it out for OU this year. LOL.

Watching 4 games right now and all are at a commercial, lol

Something similar happened to me last week. I have a new (non-retail) job this year so I get to watch games on the weekend… but it feels like there are more commercials and fewer drives.

I'm watching Auburn and A&M and Clemson and Florida State. The latter is a ballgame. The former reminds me of two Racoon hunters with ugly wives. They are using their wives to try to ugly the racoons down out of the trees. Only here the two schools are trying to ugly each other into submission. Auburn is undermanned and feisty. A&M is overstocked and underperformed.

Note for future success. When your opponent's quarterback is pedestrian and isn't accomplishing anything, for Heaven's sake do not injure them. Kudos to Max Johnson who came in for A&M and played lights out as QB. He was truly the difference in the game because he got the ball to the playmakers for A&M. Also kudos to the Auburn Defense. They had our only touchdown and played well enough that an average offense might have won.

Goodbye Clemson.

RE: Week 4 Game Thread - schmolik - 09-23-2023 02:37 PM

Terrible play calling by Clemson!

I think we may have seen the changing of the guard in the ACC.

RE: Week 4 Game Thread - Alanda - 09-23-2023 02:38 PM

Clemson pulled a Tulsa.

RE: Week 4 Game Thread - stever20 - 09-23-2023 02:46 PM

So what % of college football coaches are Oregon Duck fans right now?

RE: Week 4 Game Thread - stever20 - 09-23-2023 03:10 PM

Oregon 13 Colorado 0 2:41 to go 1st quarter.

Clemson had won 7 in a row, now FSU has won 1 in a row. In overtime. I think calling it a "changing of the guard" is a tad bit premature. FSU has now squeaked by a bad Clemson team in OT and a terrible BC squad by 2...they're hardly looking that strong right now.

JR, I just want to convey a big "Thank you" to the Auburn defense for forcing Jimbo to put in Max Johnson.

Real talk, when does Michigan play their first FBS opponent?

@ Minnesota in October.

RE: Week 4 Game Thread - stever20 - 09-23-2023 03:34 PM

Oregon 21 Colorado 0 9:39 to go 2nd quarter

RE: Week 4 Game Thread - bronconick - 09-23-2023 03:35 PM

Colorado punting from the Oregon 38 is "Playing not to get blown out" football.

Oregon runs a fake punt inside their own 20 and march down for a 21-0 lead.

RE: Week 4 Game Thread - stever20 - 09-23-2023 03:40 PM

ESPN absolutely loving the Oregon/Colorado game right now. They'd love nothing more than a 50 point beatdown and make that Colorado/USC Fox game next weekend much less interesting.

Clemson turnovers doomed them.

Sometimes coaches make odd decisions. My kids' high school team benefited from that last night. We were up 13-0 with 1:15 to go in the 2nd quarter. Other team has a 4th and 6 from our 25, they elect to go for even though the wind was at their back. They don't get the first down, we run up the middle a couple times, then the other team calls timeout with 45 seconds to go. Our coach decides to get a bit more aggressive, we get 15 yds on 3rd down, then score a TD on the next play. Now it's 20-0 instead of 13-3. Then after the other team got the ball on their own 33 with 20 seconds left, they decided to push HARD to drive down and score (despite the fact they apparently have 0 confidence in the kicker). Their QB nearly threw a pick 6 with 2 seconds left in the half. 3 times in the game, the other team went for it on 4th and 3 or 4 from their own 40, they failed on 2 of those 3 attempts, and we ended up with short field TDs both times. We won what should have been a very tight game by 19 b/c the other team's coach was flat out terrible.
