He was a 10/10 coach, just needed more time RE: Spavital out at Texas State - OsageJ - 11-27-2022 01:17 PM Glad for Bobcat fans but I am surprised. RE: Spavital out at Texas State - slycat - 11-27-2022 01:39 PM Finally. Thank Cajuns for the final nail RE: Spavital out at Texas State - Dukes94 - 11-27-2022 01:41 PM Hope the next guy turns it around for TXST. RE: Spavital out at Texas State - HarborPointe - 11-27-2022 01:48 PM Best of luck to the Bobcats in finding the right guy. RE: Spavital out at Texas State - TealNation - 11-27-2022 01:49 PM Is this where Texas State actually taps into their Texas potential and becomes a SBC staple? RE: Spavital out at Texas State - RamblinRedWolf - 11-27-2022 02:05 PM Curious who Texas State fans think might be in the mix for the job? RE: Spavital out at Texas State - KickItToScotty - 11-27-2022 02:09 PM Go get Troy Taylor, Jay Hill, Jeff Choate, or Brent Vigen RE: Spavital out at Texas State - seaking4steel - 11-27-2022 02:18 PM They can take Clark! RE: Spavital out at Texas State - GreenDaddy - 11-27-2022 02:40 PM Without really researching a lot, it seems like Scott Frost would do well there. He would be at the top of my list for any mid major. Maybe it's because of what he inherited, but I do think he did a great job there. It's possible that he may be a coach that is better suited away from the P5 programs. RE: Spavital out at Texas State - Big Buds - 11-27-2022 03:03 PM I read elsewhere this was decided a couple weeks back. Not sure the validity of that rumor but TXST was making a change regardless of last night’s outcome. RE: Spavital out at Texas State - Longhorn - 11-27-2022 03:11 PM Not surprising, and I suppose necessary, but the constant turnover has made the HC position at TXST a near toxic opportunity. On the plus side it’s a FBS program in Texas, San Marcos is a lovely community, the university is wonderful, and the football facilities are top-notch. The salary is also definitely competitive for a G5 program in a developing SBC. On the down side it’s a program sandwiched between UT-Austin and a fast developing UTSA for regional media attention, and the proximity of nearby A&M and Houston also doesn’t help recruiting. Hopefully the Bobcats find the right HC this time. RE: Spavital out at Texas State - JoeJag - 11-27-2022 03:16 PM (11-27-2022 01:14 PM)MeepMeep Wrote: This is the worst news. I am happy for the Bobcat nation, personally. There's been a lot of wasted talent come through at TXST since 2010. RE: Spavital out at Texas State - Oldyeller - 11-27-2022 03:23 PM Striking while the iron is hot with solid new additions to the Sun Belt and after a victory over A&M could bring the leverage needed. Hopefully the new HC has enough name recognition to improve the opportunity. |
