Amazing how much the freshmen are contributing so far. Vivian Akyirem is going to be a star.

We tied with you guys. So its a current 3 way tie for 1st, you face Monmouth to end the season. Drexel's fate for the regular season title resides tomorrow against Monmouth. Been an exciting season. If your ladies would like to lose to Delaware, it would be greatly appreciated.

William & Mary's Ivey Crain ranks #51 on that list. The Northeastern player doesn't have any stats listed on that link. Ivey Crain this year has won the CAA Rookie of the Week 3 times and the Player of the Week 1 time. Scored 8 goals despite being the main focal point for every defense the Tribe plays.

But that site is clearly P5-centric so why should we ..........

Monmouth was upset by Hofstra, so Sundays game is nearly for the title. Should be a dandy

I wouldn’t underestimate Hofstra if they get by Towson.

RE: 2022 Women’s Soccer - geewizNU - 10-30-2022 04:17 PM

It was lucky for W&M's Ivey Crain that the voting for Rookie of the Year occurred before the CAA Tournament. Both women had 9 goals at that time and Crain had more assists. However, as you point out above, Akyirem has scored 4 (!) goals in the tournament (so far!). If the voting happened now it is obvious Akyirem would win it.

With their recent history, I don't know how Hofstra sank to the #8 seed (well, they did graduate some star players....) so nobody should underestimate them. It should be a good match.

RE: 2022 Women’s Soccer - dan10 - 10-31-2022 01:57 PM

Congrats. We needed to capitalize on our chances in the first half. We didnt and your gals outplayed us in the second half. Good luck against a suddenly hot Hofstra team

No offense to Crain, but IMO, the "eye test" would show Akyirem is the more impactful and faster player. But the CAA loves to spread the wealth with awards if they can find a way.

Both players should be POTY candidates in the future.
