Travel sites a bit out of touch - MUther - 04-23-2022 12:18 PM So my wife's mom just died. Looked up bereavement flights to get an idea what's out there. I came across this on google: "Expedia - Bereavement Flights - Everything You Need to Go Ad·https://www.expedia.com/bereavement/flights Looking for Bereavement Flights? We've Got You Covered Anytime, Anywhere. Get the Most Out of Your Trip with Package Deals. Explore Fun Things to Do on Your Stay." Seems a bit insensitive to me. People aren't looking for fun things to do on their stay when they're burying a loved one. Maybe a friend but not a primary family member. Anything for a buck. PS...Delta is the only US carrier that still offers a discounted rate for last minute flights due to a death in the family. You will pay full last minute price at any other airline. RE: Travel sites a bit out of touch - JMURocks - 04-27-2022 08:31 AM Strikes me as a generic search engine template response where you could replace “Bereavement Flights” with other search terms like “spring break flights.” In this case it ends up in poor taste, though I suspect you would get the same response for many search terms involving travel/flights. This is a common technique I’ve also seen applied when people are searching for other goods and services. It’s a lazy way for them to provide a custom looking response to whatever you search for. |
