The Walter Payton award - ETSUfan1 - 12-07-2021 05:29 PM

Quay is in the final three for the prestigious Walter Payton award. We are very fortunate to have such an incredible talent and by all accounts, great guy here at East Tennessee State. I hope he can take it home!

Congrats to Quay!

As someone who doesn't follow much FCS football outside of ETSU. Can anyone tell me if Quay has a legit shot of making a NFL roster? I know there aren't a lot of FCS (or lower division) runnings backs in the NFL but I can think of a few. David Johnson of Northern Iowa, started in Arizona for a while and is now at Houston. Chase Edmunds of Fordham currently starts for Arizona. Austin Ekeler, who was an undrafted DII player, currently starts for the Chargers. I'm sure there are others but those are the only ones that come to mind right now.

I would love to see him in the NFL but i just don't think he has the top end speed or size to be an NFL RB. He definitely has elite vision.

James Robinson from Illinois State was undrafted.

Holmes to play in the Hula Bowl college all-star game.

Not sure how much hula will be going on in Orlando, but I digress...

NICE. Since he’s not returning, did he earn his degree early?

Well heck, I wanted Quay to win it so badly.
