Interesting that the teams in both of today's games split their regular season matches. As a Lamar fan I'll say Lamar defeats Sam Houston and at the neutral site I'll give UTRGV the slight edge based on their latest performances.

We’d have at least a couple more NCAA appearances were it naught for the juggernaut of SFA in the 80’s and 90’s.

UTRGV three-point percentage fell way off today and Utah Valley took advantage of it to get the win. The post player for UVU had a very good game.

GCU survives CBU 64-60 setting up a final against SFA. Doubt GCU has much of a chance against SFA, but you never know.

GCU held the WAC player of the year, Caitlyn Harper, to just two made free throws. Harper played 30 minutes but was a non-factor.
On the other hand, GCU's star player (thank you UTRGV!
), Amara Graham, scored 22 points while shooting 60% from the field and making 8 of 9 free throws.

Congratulations to SFA on a tourney championship. Hope they get a decent seed in the NCAA tourney. It would be nice if the WAC rep could win a couple of games at least.

Looks like SFA (12th seed) will play UNC (5th seed). North Carolina is ranked 18th in the country so SFA got a tough first round match-up.
