Opening of 21-22 WBB Season - FirstandGoal - 11-09-2021 03:03 PM

In what I believe was the first WAC game of the season Chicago State women lost to Wichita State 78-34. There are a total of ten games today with five of them against D1 programs. Lamar women take on New Mexico. SFA plays UTSA, UTRGV plays South Florida and Cal Baptist takes on UC-Riverside. The other five games I believe are all versus lower division schools.

South Florida is #21 in the pre-season polls. I hope we can keep it respectable, e.g. not doubled or tripled. Our new guard from Spain (Llorente) looks promising, but the exhibition was against a pushover team so there's really no telling.

Good luck with New Mexico. That would be a very impressive win.

Seattle already dropped a D2 game against Central Washington. Fortunately it counted as exhibition.

I’m hoping Lamar can beat the Lobos

USF 63 UTRGV 56.
Better than expected against a ranked team, this could be a good season.

Overall the WAC women were 7-3 with all three losses to teams from higher ranked D! conferences.

Lamar women do what you would expect against an NAIA team, blowing out Howard Payne 107-37.

GCU does the same against NAIA Arizona Christian University, winning 95-48.

There's no SW New Mexico. If you played the private school from Hobbs, that's University of the Southwest.

Howard Payne is D3.

Sorry, I didn't take time to look them up, point is they did what they were supposed to to a lesser division program.
