The way I see it, the AAC needs schools that can keep its G6 claim alive. Liberty is one of the best options out there. They will come in a compete for conference championship in all sports and help the conference push for the claim of G6.

I also read today that some schools do not want to have Liberty in their conference, because they do not want to get into a arms race with Liberty. Keeping them out allows for a edge that they can claim.

I really admire Liberty's football program. Talk about a pull the shoestraps effort. And they went down to Birmingham and christened UAB's much ballyhooed stadium debut with a serious arse-whipping.

Seriously, at this point I would be fine with offering Liberty a football-only membership with a reduced share of media/conference revenues. Not sure if Liberty would be interested in that but I would be. We could revisit the idea of all-sports membership in a decade if things work out.

I don't think Liberty would sign up for that. 3 years ago absolutely. I mean look at what each school got last year
Memphis led the way in payouts with $8.656 million followed by
Cincinnati ($6.2 million)
Temple ($5.9 million)
SMU ($5.37 million)
UCF ($5.35 million)
Tulane ($5 million)
USF ($4.6 million)
East Carolina ($4.59 million)
Tulsa ($4.45 million)
Houston ($4.43 million)
Navy ($3.84 million)
Liberty Paid $1.32 million for a game against ODU this year. They would like not to do that anymore. That's a lot of money for a game against a G5.

Absolutely not... The only additions that add more are leaving the AAC for the BIG XII, and none of them can match Liberty $$$.

Why haven’t the Sun Belt and CUSA added them yet?
