The pairings are set for the 2021 CAA Baseball Championship, which will be held May 26-30 at Brooks Field in Wilmington, N.C.

The six-team, double-elimination tournament gets underway on Wednesday, May 26 as fourth-seeded Charleston (24-23, 12-12 in CAA) faces #5 Towson (21-34, 11-12 in CAA) at Noon, followed by #3 Elon (21-20, 10-8 in CAA) against #6 William & Mary (13-27, 10-14 in CAA) at 4 p.m.

On Thursday, the action starts at 11 a.m. with an elimination game between the losers of Wednesday’s contests. Top-seeded Northeastern (32-9, 20-3 in CAA) takes on the lowest-seeded winner from Wednesday’s games at 3 p.m., followed by #2 UNCW (30-20, 13-8 in CAA) against the highest-seeded winner from Wednesday’s contests at 7 p.m.

Tournament action continues with three games on Friday and another at 1 p.m. on Saturday, setting the stage for the CAA championship game set at 5 p.m. on Saturday.

All games of the CAA Baseball Championship will be streamed on FloBaseball.tv (FloSports.tv/caa).

Game 1 - #4 Charleston vs. #5 Towson – 12 p.m.

Thursday, May 27
Game 3 – Loser of Game 1 vs. Loser of Game 2 – 11 a.m.
Game 4 - #1 Northeastern vs. Lowest-seeded Game 1/2 winner – 3 p.m.
Game 5 - #2 UNCW vs. Highest-seeded Game 1/2 winner – 7 p.m.

Friday, May 28
Game 6 - Winner of Game 3 vs. Lowest-seeded Game 4/5 loser – 11 a.m.
Game 7 – Winner of Game 6 vs. Highest-seeded Game 4/5 loser – 3 p.m.
Game 8 – Winner of Game 4 vs. Winner of Game 5 – 7 p.m.

Saturday, May 29
Game 9 – Winner of Game 7 vs. Loser of Game 8 – 1 p.m.
Game 10 – Winner of Game 8 vs. Winner of Game 9 – 5 p.m.

Sunday, May 30
Game 11 (if necessary) – Winner of Game 10 vs. Loser of Game 10 – 1 p.m.

Dupere and Schlittler are on the All-CAA first team with second baseman Scott Holzwasser, designated hitter Max Viera and RHP Kyle Murphy.

Third baseman Danny Crossen, outfielder Jeff Costello and reliever Eric Yost were named to the All-CAA second team.

Weird stuff in game 1 of the tournament. Towson used their Friday guy (Seils) while Charleston started a reliever/midweek guy (Jordan Carr).

Carr gave up 3 runs in the 3rd, so Charleston replaced him in relief with their Friday guy (Privette). He's pitched well the last 2 innings (0 ER, 0 H, 0 BB, 3 K's), and presumably he could end up going basically the rest of the game if they need him to. But still, why not just start him? Strange decisions by Charleston. Towson leads 3-2 in the 5th.

Do you guys care who you face in your first game? And feel free to come discuss the tournament on our board if you'd like!

I just got home from work so I’m just seeing this post.

Personally, I didn’t care who NU faces, although I kind of wanted to play a southern team. I’m tired of facing the same damn teams in our division. Plus if it was Towson, we’d be facing their 6-10 righty who was tough on NU. They didn’t hit him well although they never lost any of his starts.

Glavine is going to start Schlittler vs. CofC.

NU opened the tourney beating Charleston 10-3 to make a small statement.

Freshman Cam Schlittler got the win (8-0) going 8 innings, allowing 8 H, 3 ER, 1 BB and 6 K’s.
He got hit on the upper part of his pitching arm just above the elbow in the 7th on a comebacker. But he stayed in the game ( don’t know why he did).

Ben Malgeri, Ian Fair and Jared Dupere all went deep.

NU will now play the winner of Elon/UNCW tomorrow night at 7 pm.

**Note that the winner of this game will only have to win 1 out of 2 games to win the title while the loser will have to win 3 in a row

Looking forward to facing you guys tonight. I know you guys are gonna be formidable, so it really depends on which UNCW team shows up tonight. If we're moving runners over, not walking people or committing errors (you know, the stuff that wins at every level) like we're capable of, we can win.

But after watching you guys completely dismantle Charleston yesterday, I can't confidently predict a Seahawk win, only hope for one.

Everyone know if you want to win this conference tourney the road ALWAYS goes through UNCW. And tonight is no exception, especially in front of your crowd which will be very rowdy!

I expect Murphy to start tonight and if he doesn’t give up free passes and keeps away from the big inning (which normally includes a long ball or too) we can get a win.

But color me nervous about this one...

Is Smith on the bump for you guys tonight?

Tonight’s crazy for me.

I’m going to watch NU/UNCW on the TV and have the Knicks/Hawks on my laptop.

I would NEVER not watch or be fully engaged in a Knicks playoff game (especially since they haven’t been in the damn thing since 2012), but college baseball is the priority tonight!

NU loses to UNCW 8-4 Friday night.

NU will face Charleston in an elimination game Saturday afternoon at 1 pm.

UNCW scored 2 in the 1st inning 4 in the 2nd to force NU to play catch-up all game.

NU gets a great pitching performance from Sebastian Keane to beat Charleston 5-1 to advance to the Championship round.

Keane went 7 innings allowing 4 hits, 1 ER, 0 BB with 6 K’s.

The game was scoreless until the 6th when Dupere hit a 2- run homer to give NU a 2-0 lead.

I was surprised CofC took out their starter after 5 innings, who was pitching great as well.

Wyatt Scotti will be on the mound vs. UNCW to try to extend our season.
