WAC Tournament Games Thread - NeptunianEmp - 03-11-2021 07:34 PM

Here we go starting off with CBU vs SU. This one is gonna be good especially after their last series.

RE: WAC Tournament Games Thread - NeptunianEmp - 03-11-2021 08:21 PM

Interesting that CBU had to get an exemption to stay at the Orleans arena since they are a Christian university. Does GCU have to do anything like that?

RE: WAC Tournament Games Thread - Trod0 - 03-11-2021 08:53 PM

Seattle is a solid team

RE: WAC Tournament Games Thread - NeptunianEmp - 03-11-2021 08:56 PM

Both SU and CBU are solid. I am very worried about both of them next season.

RE: WAC Tournament Games Thread - Trod0 - 03-11-2021 09:23 PM

This year, anyone can beat anyone. It seem like it will be like that next year too

RE: WAC Tournament Games Thread - DoubleRSU - 03-11-2021 09:32 PM

SU played well tonight. Glad we didn’t have to give the autobid away in case CBU won the whole thing.

Not that I'm aware of also the fact that GCU has a restaurant that serves beer and wine on campus. CBU is old school baptist, CBU is similar to ORU is how it's been explained to me.

Who do they ask for the exemption? Also is anyone hosting a stream for the NMSU game?

It was something that was mentioned for their university during the SU CBU game.
twitch.tv/aggiefromneptune for all your Aggie games.

It’s on ESPN+

Likely because CBU was founded by the Southern Baptist Convention. If I remember correctly from my time applying and "scouting" different schools, they require a statement of faith as part of the application process. GCU dropped that requirement around the time that they needed their bailout in '08 (likely because they were trying to rapidly grow the campus and dropping it was the easiest way to boost enrollment quickly). GCU is also considered non-denominational, so they don't have the same affiliations that CBU does.

RE: WAC Tournament Games Thread - FINALFOUR1970SWEETSIXTEEN1992 - 03-12-2021 01:01 AM

NMSU is now 15-0 in first games in the WAC Tournament.

RE: WAC Tournament Games Thread - FINALFOUR1970SWEETSIXTEEN1992 - 03-12-2021 01:03 AM

NMSU got to rest their starters a lot tonight so good sign going into tomorrow.

RE: WAC Tournament Games Thread - Todor - 03-12-2021 04:39 AM

Far from a great game, but at least they looked like an NMSU team out on the court finally.

RE: WAC Tournament Games Thread - Trod0 - 03-12-2021 08:53 AM

Today’s matchups should be good.

RE: WAC Tournament Games Thread - OhioBoilermaker - 03-12-2021 09:49 AM

WAC bracket is perfect so far. I have Seattle and NMSU winning tonight.

Also, thanks for the stream.

RE: WAC Tournament Games Thread - NeptunianEmp - 03-12-2021 10:50 AM

I don't want to take anything away from GCU, but an SU upset is very likely. They played amazing last night. GCU will be going for that WAC Finals win. I am looking forward to tonight's games. I believe these two games will be the best semifinal games we've seen in a long time. Hell I'll even stream the SU GCU game for people to watch and I've never streamed a non Aggie game before.

RE: WAC Tournament Games Thread - Lopes87 - 03-12-2021 12:07 PM

GM1 of SU-GCU the difference was SU from the FT line was 17-25 GCU was 9-14 and turnovers GCU 19 SU 9, SU won 63-57 Trammell scored 10 of his 17 points from the FT line.

GM2 of SU-GCU the difference was GCU shot 10% better from the field and had 18 assists on 22 made shots and got to the line more often 22-27 SU was 17-17 from the line. Trammell has 28 and was 11-11 from the line.

GM3 GCU is a 7 point favorite, if the Lopes have ball movement they should win the game but if SU can keep them stagnant and out of their element its a toss up and SU has a good shot at winning.

RE: WAC Tournament Games Thread - YesCubanB - 03-12-2021 12:39 PM

Should be two very good games tonight. Be interesting to see how Seattle and NMSU do against the fresh legs of GCU and UVU.
