Also relevant is that the AAC has already engaged with Boise State and San Diego State about potentially joining. It’d be naïve to not brace for another round of realignment at both the Power Five and Group of Five level

Just need BYU too.

Hi. Umm, the megathread is over there....so if you don't mind...thanks, mkay.

The next logical step of the AAC assuming BYU or Army can't be snagged.

OP makes it sound like we're in discussions now with BSU and SDSU. Wrong. Not since the last fiasco.

I just don't see it. Air Force as a football-only member makes sense, you just move Tulane to the east and plug Air Force in right there. That's if Air Force wanted to make the move. Otherwise, the only add that would make sense to me would be Liberty (does the AAC really want to deal with them?) or Old Dominion (already has affiliate membership, so a relationship is there). They'll have to make a decision soon because I doubt they get another waiver.

What would be the point of adding two? If the AAC is adding more than one, the number would have to be three would it not?

These reports are not discussing the 2011-2012 time period. This was 2020---but no indication by Dodd if the talks had ended or not. Strangely, he wasnt asked that question in the interview I posted. I would say the tenor of the interview would suggest the talks are ongoing.

Yes. Dennis Dodd says its 3. He doesnt really know who #3 is.

That tells me they're holding out for BYU. If BYU declines, then maybe 3 is Air Force, UNLV, Fresno, Nevada....?

I’d say if BYU declines it’s likely going to be AFA or CSU, although some “insider” on the MWC board says he is hearing its New Mexico.

Not very exciting....but much more likely than BYU. That said....its university presidents. State flagship with decent academics (#187 USNWR ranking).

It’s done every day in math classes across the country. He said that these are old talks, where is his proof?

Link to the thread on the MWC board, insider says CSU or UNLV the third team:

No real source to that other than a poster---though it is one who has been correct before. I believe Forever said the poster mentioned losing his main access to inside info (journalist friend or something along those lines had moved away if I remember correctly).

You know spam posting rumours from other boards doesn't lend you a lot of credibility, that you don't know the difference between logic and math is unsurprising.
