La Salle - dan10 - 12-11-2020 01:50 PM

The current plan is for our dragons to take on cross town La Salle at the DAC. While it would be nice to have students, this crowd should feel pretty normal for La Salle and Drexel. Ashely Howard and La Salle are having a rough go this season. They are 0-3 against DI teams with their previous game against Army as their lone single digit loss. St Johns and St Peters beat them with ease. They beat DII Lincoln by 18, losing by 1 in the 2nd half.

Jack Clark is their leading scorer with 10 points per game and also their leading rebounder at 6.8 rebounds per game. Clark is a tall guard at 6'8" so he certainly could give us some troubles, but look for Okros or Bickerstaff to cover him on the wing. Hard to say how their minutes break down but it looks like they are balanced and play a ton of guys. They have 10 guys averaging double digit minutes per game (of those who have played in 3 or 4 games). They have 8 guys averaging between 6-10 points. Much of their roster is from PA, NJ, VA, DC so they are the definition of a local team. This is not a good team right now and is one we truly need to put away early. They are very young with 10 players on their roster as sophomores or freshman. We just need to play our game and use our athleticism and we should be fine.

We opened up as 3 point favorites. It is at 2.5 currently

Under 4 timeout down 28-12. Embarrassing effort

RE: La Salle - dan10 - 12-12-2020 02:53 PM

Down 32-23 at half. Was as much as 18 at one point.

La Salle with 10 turnovers and still lead by 10.

La Salle is 3-5 from 3 and 11-21 from 2; We are 1-9 from 3 and 6-19 from 2. Make some shots and we will be fine.

RE: La Salle - dan10 - 12-12-2020 03:33 PM

U8 down 45-41

RE: La Salle - dan10 - 12-12-2020 03:43 PM

U4 down 50-47. Cant seem to take the lead. Freshman Brickus for La Salle hurting us in every way (3;s, steals, charges). He was one we recruited as well.

RE: La Salle - dan10 - 12-12-2020 03:53 PM

Bad loss. La Salle is not good. Every time we needed a bucket after we got it to one our possessions ended in charges or other turnovers.

RE: La Salle - dan10 - 12-12-2020 03:54 PM

Final 58-48

3-20 from 3 and 16 turnovers. 33% shooting overall. That wont get it done against anyone.

too many minutes for juric and okros down the stretch. i'd rather see some of the younger guys like oden and bickerstaff.

RE: La Salle - jcohen42 - 12-12-2020 06:48 PM

Season-long, they're shooting under 30% from three. That's not going to cut it. Okros especially needs to turn it on, he's gone from over 40% last season to under 26% so far this season.

Any news on Coletrane's status? We could have really used his shooting and secondary scoring in this game.

They hung in there after being down 18, but the moral of the story is....you have to make your shots. So many easy open looks missed. This was a game this team probably should have taken.

Glad I wasn't allowed to attend this one.
