Maybe Louisiana can somehow cancel this Saturday’s game with Central Arkansas and replace it with Tech...wishful thinking but one can hope!

Well we’ve played like four times in the last 20 years so there’s that. I believe we lost on the goal line up in Ruston, due to awful officiating as the ref wouldn’t let us snap, back in ‘06 or something. This game should be a regular thing.

Why doesn’t Louisiana and Louisiana Tech play more? Potential to be a nice local rivalry, between two solid teams. Makes a lot of sense to me. Is the cheating scandal the reason? If so I think it’s time to move on. I get why no one would want to play Monroe lol but a Tech/Lafayette matchup regularly should be fun.

I have firsthand information that our AD reaches out to Tech annually about football and never gets a yes. I assure you it has nothing to do with the ACT scandal from ‘12-‘14. I think Tech honestly feels we are beneath them and that they have nothing to gain and everything to lose by playing us on the regular...it’s a shame because it’s such a natural rivalry.

Ok, Rice can come too. The Owls can play the winner of the UTEP/LA Tech game 30 minutes after the conclusion of game 1. We'll just knock out the remainder of the season on Saturday.

He got majorly outplayed by the backup last week, the coaches probably told him he wasn’t the starter anymore and he decided to leave.

If we ever find ourselves in the same conference, then of course it will become an annual matchup. But until then, I see no benefit to an annual Tech-ULL game. A home-home series every 5 years or so, however, would be good.

Tech has played ULL 87 times in a series dating back to 1910, we've won the last 8 in a row by a large average margin. Tech has played ULM 43 times in a series dating back to 1953 (when ULM started), we've won the last 8 in a row by a large average margin. We play them both plenty. I'm sure when Northwestern St, McNeese, etc join the Sunbelt their fans will say we "duck" them too.
