AAC basketball preview - OKIcat - 10-27-2020 08:52 AM

A pretty good read from ESPN as we await what we hope will be a college basketball season this year...

"Now there's no Jarron Cumberland, and from an outside perspective, I don't think John Brannen is too upset about that."

RE: AAC basketball preview - BearcatMan - 10-27-2020 09:10 AM

If we finish in the Top 3, we'll be a tourney team again you'd have to figure.

Should we lay odds on which coach was quoted on that? LOL.

Vogt/Williams co players of the year
DeJulius/Rap co newcomers of the year
Cats win the title.

Is this coach more likely to hit a player or a tie rack?

This was apparent early in the year, although posters here did their best to deny that Jarron and Brannen were butting heads. It seemed like they worked things out as the season progressed though. I will still never understand why a head coach--or fans--would not want a player like Jarron Cumberland, but I guess here we are.

I recall Kelvin Sampson using the road going thru Cincy wording at some other point over the past several years.

you all think that if penny turns out to be a good coach (i'd wager he's trending that way) he'll be a memphis lifer? it'd be hilarious if he took over for coach cal

If he keeps recruiting at his level and finds a way to actually coach well rather than just relying on motion and good players to win games he should win, and lose games he is challenged in, then someone will come in and drop a **** load of money that Memphis can't afford.

If he can actually coach he'll end up in the NBA.

This is not surprising from watching the games.

That explains a lot. He definitely wasn't the same player.

P-Doc wrote that there is a Zoom presser today with Brannen. Does anyone know if that will be broadcast live to the public? I can't find anything else on it.

Huh, I didn't think P-Doc was aware we played sports at The University of Cincinnati.

I'm sure this will bring Skyhops back with his Nba metrics. LOL

I think he’ll eventually go to the NBA is he’s really successful at Memphis.

Temple being this bad is a travesty.
