What happened to ECU Rivals ? - Sideshow2313 - 09-24-2020 03:46 PM

I figured I had some time to kill so wanted to see what OTM was up to but that board is a ghost town. Is BoneYardBanter the only ECU fan forum now?

Yeah Pirates Illustrated's forum on rivals is still there, but not much traffic.

Most fans are either here or Hoist The Colours (247), with the older more hilarious crowd being found over on BYB. The latest drama is over the social justice patches that are causing the older, grumpier pirates to jump ship....again....for real this time.....they'll do it (they don't have anywhere else to go 03-shhhh).

Yeah they are definitely gone, have you not seen the P&L statements? The finances are the worst they have ever been and getting worse everyday. We just cut 4 sports and still are projected to lose millions of dollars, Pirate club membership is dropping daily and our governor has destroyed any chance of attendance.

Eh, I attribute the racism departures as <5%. Ticket refunds due to lack of attendance and fair weather fans makes up most of it.

Yes he is.

Hahaha - that schtick got tired within 2 weeks of interacting with him. Way back when in the OG CUSA days, and when USF had a functional/functioning message board (that was on Rivals), we had two ECU fans who loved to come in and stir things up. One was OTM. The other was a guy named Jeffrey Ellis, who at least claimed to have been a one-time USF student who'd transferred to ECU, and who used to make Jed Clampett's posts look succinct.

Lots of old stuff on these boards before I frequented here. Seems funny to me now, but still a lot of truth in some of it. This thread 8 years ago started about Georgia Southern but degenerated into an ECU crapfest rolling down hill before it was locked.

Looks like divine intervention has happened since all ECU wins came back in the 80's and early 90's...

Our 2-8 team beat you by four touchdowns in 2017, don’t quit your day job at cnn. Enjoy your small fry stadium that belongs in the sun belt. I have received better prizes in my Cracker Jack boxes than that dump.

I agree, went there and I thought I went to back in time. Very hard to read. Also saying the reply in the heading is annoying. That said; glad you have 247 and there is enough discussion to read.

Yeah the format is horrendous. Old guys in their computer rooms thinking: too many replies to that thread already, going to start a new one that just says "not in my backyard" with no context.
