How do 48 team tournaments work? - edinburger - 09-18-2020 10:18 AM

Read that all the Fall sports delayed to Spring will have 48 team tournaments, usually 32 autobids and 16 at large.

How does it work? Do 16 teams get a bye (or equivalently, 32 teams have to do a play-in round)? Or do they go 48-24-12-6-3 and then do some kind of round robin at the end?

Good question. Looks like it was 32 teams in the first round back in the "good ole days".
