Nice article on Tarleton’s newest men’s basketball recruit. Appears we got him over Cal Baptist and UTEP.

It's official...

I do not recall SHSU signing international student-athletes in men's basketball with one exception maybe in the last decade. Now you have two direct signees from Europe and a transfer who hails from Europe.

Previous from Europe was Aurimas Majauskas who played his last MBB for SHSU in 16-17; he was an All SLC performer and topped 1000 career points.

I missed this commitment to Chicago State from last week....

Cal Baptist picks up a HS commit late. Scotty Washington is a 6'4, 170-lbs wing.

Tarleton State adds ANOTHER player. How many is that now? Jaheim Holden, a 6'0 165-lbs, PG from Barton CC.

It's sad but I'm sure many people would consider Gilberto Clavell an "international player"

There are even people who are surprised to find that NMSU is eligible to join the NCAA.

I think that NM is the only state that has USA on the license plate.

Of the WAC schools, Cal Baptist has the greatest amount of international flavor with four players from Australia, one player from Brazil, one player from Canada, one player from Norway, and one player from the England; nearly half the roster from outside the US borders. And, the WAC school with probably the smallest recruiting footprint is probably Lamar; with 12 players from the State of Texas.

Thanks to 95% of Americans thinking New Mexico is in Mexico.

Challenge accepted.

Who can sign the most players, Texans vs the Aggies?

Both the NMSU and Tarleton State rosters stand at 19 players. The Aggies have had 13 players commit to NMSU and the Texans have had 13 players commit to Tarleton State but have since lost two... Kawanise Wilkins (to Lewis College) and Ja'Mais Werts (I think?). NMSU has 3 waivered Seniors and Tarleton State has one. It is unclear who will redshirt and/or walk-on at NMSU? Last Season, Tahj Small and Roman Garcia were walk-on. I'm not sure if the will fulfill the same capacity this year?

I think. I hope. Jans is done signing players for this season. I wonder if BCG is done as well?

Going back to NMSU's addition of Aquarn Butler, two impressive stats he brings to our team is he was #1 in the NJCAA in assist-to-turnover ratio with a ratio of 7:1. And, Butler was #3 in the NJCAA for steals; with 3.6 spg. So, he should be a smart pesky guard.
