So that allows for 25 P5-G5/FCS games. 15 ACC and 10 Big 12.

sucks that the opener (vs OOC) is week 2. They should have allowed teams to play that game week 0 or week1. Give two weeks before the second game of the season.

I kind of like it. The way the season is shaping up (assuming it gets played at all), the real shortage of FBS, and really P5, football we face are those four weekends of August 29, September 5, September 12, and September 19, before everyone joins in on September 26.
So IMO, any games played on any of those weekends is a good thing, and it doesn't really matter to me which of the weekends the games are scheduled on.

Most of these +1's to me are pointless just like after the SEC abandoned non conference games the +1's for the ACC are pointless too. Unless you're so desperate for football you'll watch Oklahoma State-Tulsa or Baylor-Rice or something like that.

I dont even understand why the ACC is keeping its extra OOC game after the SEC canceled theirs. The main point of it was to keep the SEC-ACC interstate matchups. With those gone, what's the point?

The Big 12 doesn't even have a "network".
It is a potentially strong opportunity for ESPN and the ACC to promote the ACCN. I fully expect the ACC to offer a large number of conference games during the first two weeks. Without many other P5 v P5 matchups, these should grab great time slots.
Of the other P5 conferences, only the B1G has held out the possibility of playing conference games before 9/26. The B1G is rumored to be announcing their schedule today. Even if the B1G does play early games, ESPN is unlikely to be allotted more than 2 or 3 games per week.
The B12 doesn't have a network, but its members have member retained rights games that provide them with quite a bit of value. They would lose these games without the plus one. For the B12, anyway, adding a plus one also gets them to ten games like the P12, B1G and SEC.

ughh yes people will be desperate wanting to see their school play even against let's say a UTEP. BTW does the ou vs southwest Mizzu st game still PPV?

Inventory for the ACCN is important. Also, with ND all-in for 2020 the ACC will have to balance scheduling amongst 15 members. A +1 can actually provide some flexibility.

Well for the Big 12 it can matter because if their teams play only 9 games, they could be at the old "fewer data points" disadvantage in the CFP when compared to conferences that played 10 games.

The ACC screwed Notre Dame really good with the rule that the OOC game must be played in an "ACC state" (EDIT: must be played in the home state of the ACC team]. Totally pointless rule other than to make it more likely the OOC game will make money as a home game.
So much for caring about historical rivalries ...

I thought that technically, Notre Dame is an ACC football member this season?
In fact, that's the reason they *can't* play the Navy game as scheduled in Annapolis, because the ACC rule forbids it and by their agreement with the ACC they are under the authority of ACC rules this season. If they were still independent, they could play Navy in Annapolis as they'd like to, no?
