I was hoping I didnt miss something because of this virus... That seems reasonable for UNA. I think we get better, but this is an awful tough schedule for year 3. RE: 2020 ASUN Football - WesternSkillet - 03-31-2020 02:03 PM Great to see this thread! I'm thinking 7 or 8 wins for LU. The difficulty in predicting this season is the QB situation. There is also a lot of young and inexperienced FBS talent replacing FCS talent that was experienced and developed. Go ASUN football! RE: 2020 ASUN Football - WesternSkillet - 03-31-2020 02:04 PM BTW is FGCU running a club football team this year? RE: 2020 ASUN Football - army56mike - 03-31-2020 07:59 PM I’m not sure. I know there was some controversy last year and the FGCU admins suspended club football operations after the season. They went 6-2. I hope they continue, but it will be with a new coach and leadership I believe. RE: 2020 ASUN Football - lion1983 - 03-31-2020 08:55 PM (03-31-2020 07:59 PM)army56mike Wrote: I’m not sure. We had a guy from my old High School said he got offered from them. Made me question things. RE: 2020 ASUN Football - army56mike - 04-01-2020 07:38 AM Yep, that was the controversy. RE: 2020 ASUN Football - army56mike - 04-11-2020 12:55 PM Like literally, are both North Alabama and Kennesaw St. trying to become FBS programs, or is that just message board rumblings? Have school admins come out and said our plan is...? Have school admins come out and said our plan is...? Most is message board banter. UNA is a ways away from any such thinking, but you have to look at our surroundings though. The biggest reason for leaving D2 was that all of our rivals went D1 years ago, and when we had the opportunity to do the same, our "leadership" at the time didnt want to. If certain schools move to FBS then you will see UNA try to at least explore the idea. Everyone goes on about JSU moving FBS, UNA is about the same size school, bigger town and more money. So, if you say JSU should, you have to think UNA as well. From everyone I have talked to on KSUs side, they have no real interest in FBS. And I really dont see (nor does KSU) a FBS conference (reasonable conference) that would be interested in them. The market in ATL is too saturated with non P5 schools. So I think KSU and UNA will be FCS for a while. But it also depends heavily on the surrounding schools, in UNAs case schools like JSU, Chattanooga and KSU to an extent. |
