Good Day for Men's Track Team - bubbadog57 - 03-08-2020 07:22 AM

Let's not overlook the terrific day our men's track & field team had yesterday at the big IC4A meet.

Our young athletes won two IC4A Championships and the team sits in second place in the 30-team meet with 27 points, trailing only UConn
by seven points.

Soph Tray Yearwood won the weight throw gold medal with a big toss
of 64.725 feet, while our redshirt junior, JP Trojan won a very competitive 5000 over some of the East's best long distance runners in a personal best of 13:48.91 minutes.

And we shouldn't overlook freshman, Daniel Layton, who finished fifth in the heptathalon with 4733 points. Layton is a very promising young athlete who will set Tribe records in these kind of events in future seasons.

Great to see our men's track & field team improving like this.

Another great day for the young Tribe mans track & field team at the IC4A Indoor Championships.

Team finished a strong second in the big 42 team meet with a total of six individual championships-most ever in this meet by W&M- including four more yesterday.

All four were lifetime bests by our guys: junior KJ Cook in the shot (59:8.5 feet), redshirt soph Michael Fairbanks in the pole vault (17-0.75),
redshirt junior JP Trojan in the 3000 meter run (8:03.93)..first ever W&M athlete to win two IC4A events (won 5000 Saturday).. and redshirt
senior Chris Short in the 800 meters (1:50.03).

Just a stunning performance for our men at a big Eastern meet.

John Randolph is crying from heaven for what the school has done to the famed program he help build. Sad.
