Long home conference winning streak about to end. Down 21 with less then a minute left.

We are so limited offensively that it is very tough to beat anyone that is average or better. Tough to watch.

Looked like a match-up between a team that is 14-2 and one that is 5-11. Ya, I know Coastal hasn't played "anybody". If Joe can get this team competitive with Coastal, by tournament time, it will be his best coaching job yet. I just checked and Troy beat Coastal and is 12-3 (Losses to Duke and Mississippi State). This team will improve under Joe's guidance, but I don't know about a 1st or 2nd place finish. 3rd or 4th, needing a home win to get to New Orleans might be do-able. If we get to New Orleans anything can happen. But right now we need to worry about ASU on Saturday.

I thought the women would be really good this year, after an athletic department staff member told me he'd never seen Joe so excited about a team. I later realized that what he actually was saying was that he never has seen Joe this excited about a freshman class. In other words, they are probably a couple of years away from being really good. Unlike the past few year's, I need to accept the fact that a conference game (especially at home) is not an automatic "W" for this team. Still, I expect them to be much better by season's end because of Joe.

What did you think of this: Foley emptied his bench with 3:34 left. Coastal didn't empty its bench until 1:28. Kept starters in 2 full minutes.
And when the game was over the entire staff and team went to midcourt to revel in the victory.

Foley emptied his bench early which he almost never does- I think he was quite frustrated with his starters. I really don't care what the opposing coach does with her team. I don't blame them for "reveling" in victory. Not sure if they have ever beaten our ladies. Certainly haven't beaten them at Stephens since that hasn't been accomplished since before they joined the league. I think our girls would be pretty excited if they ended another team's 38 game conference home winning streak. I view CC's celebrating as a compliment- beating the LR ladies at Stephens is a very big deal.
