Detroit - geewizNU - 12-19-2019 05:45 PM

The last game of this Michigan road trip is at Detroit.

They have one of the top scorers in the country in Antoine Davis, but they only have one win.

I think both Eboigbodin and Murphy are out again, so it’s going to be another tough one on the road.

Max with nine rebounds, eight points and Rhee assists at the half. King of blew an eleven point lead.

Going to be a nice team win. Max carried the first half and Bo carried the 2nd. Nice to win on the road and score points with Roland quiet. Happy holidays all. Need Tom and Greg back for a tough trip to Towson/JMU in 9 days. I've given up on Tom coming back but sounds like Greg will be (though the nagging knee soreness scares me)

Yep. Looks like Max has shaken off all the rust and it was nice to see Brace look like his old self. I wish we had a better first guard off the bench. Looks like the answer isn't in the freshman class, at least not yet.

NU starts a six-game homestand tonight hosting Detroit Mercy, a team they have faced the last few years.

Antoine Davis is one of the top scorers in the nation, averaging 23.8 ppg. But as long as no one else goes off NU should bounce back and win this one.

3 things.

1. Man, that game was less than 2 years ago and feels like a lifetime

2. I was even lamenting the injuries then so it was a good moment of self reflection to stop harping on them. I was right about giving up on Tomas I guess unfortunately...

3. Big opportunity with 3 weeks at home and 6 games to find our groove a bit before conference play although a lot of tough opponents on the docket

Starting 5 of Vito-Glen-Telfort-Strong-Doherty.

Walters out, Stucke out, Djogo out. TSG possible? He is dressed and warming up with team

Good win with 3.5 players missing (this was a wamup for TSG) and basically only playing 6 guys. It got dicey again with an 11 point halftime lead cut to 1 but we stayed the course. Vito was great, especially early, and Strong (14 and 10) and Chris (17 and 15) also carried us. On to Colgate Friday

I thought we were pretty much in charge except for when Davis got hot early in the second half while we went back to throwing the ball away..

Another nice early contribution by Vito.

Nineteen minutes is a small sample but I liked what I saw from TSG. It says a lot that coach had him in there at crunch time in his first game back.

Now we only have to worry about Shaq and Djogo.

Hofstra could say the same thing. Hofstra beat Detroit 98-84. Davis scored 11 in the first half and 28 in the second half. He scored 12 points in 1:27 from three threes and three free throws after being fouled shooting a three. 75 players have scored at least 2,500 points. Davis has 2,182.

I watched your game. Davis shot a few from WAY behind the three point line. He brought his team within striking distance like he did with us.

The Detroit Mercy message board post on the game is laughable.

Some clown thinks on a level playing field they're better than us. There was nothing impressive about them or their clueless head coach. The same guy thinks we lost to Georgia State on a neutral court. One of DM's former players now plays for GSU.

Davis can score, but that's all he can do.

I see no benefit in scheduling them anytime soon. We can do better.
