I’m seriously looking at finally getting rid of the satellite. What do you guys use for all the standard channels???
I’m looking at YoutubeTV, it seems to have all the channels as well as local channels. This is the first time I’ve seriously looked at it so I’m gathering info.

1st have you checked online to see what local channels you can get with an antenna?
2nd have you looked at the channel lineup on Philo? Cheapest cable replacement streaming service available but doesn't have some channels people love.

I’m on the side of the wrong side of a mountain. I actually can’t get any channels from an antenna.
I want the sports, local, I have kids so need the cartoon stuff, the Discovery, HGTV channels. Basically what comes standard with satellite. Currently paying $110 for satellite, YoutubeTv is $59 and seems to have everything. I also have Amazon Prime and ESPN+ already.

Yeh, YT or HuluLive is your best bet.
Personally I would probably go HuluLive, since you have ESPN+ and you might be able to combine HuluLive with Disney+ and get your ESPN+ for free.

We use Hulu. It provided the best sports options without needing an extra add-on package. I'm not familiar with YouTube, so can't compare the two, but we've really like Hulu as a cable alternative. The only thing I'd complain about is Hulu can be finicky when steamed through a Roku. Some slightly older Roku models can't handle the app and will shut down/reboot, especially when trying to stream live sports.

here in the dfw area I get 20 or more channels over the air..all crystal clear..just no dvr or pause, but there are options available for that. we only watch the local channels for news and a few sitcoms because so much content has become lame and commercials have gotten to be 30-40% of the shows. netflix and amazon get most of our viewing time. we have roku sticks on all our tv's and a roku tv in our travel trailer.

I haven’t been to jagsjungle in a few years. They kept changing carriers for it and, in my opinion, was harder to navigate and keep up with the threads you wanted to stay with. So I’m not a member there.

Yeh, there are quite a few options if you wanted an OTA DVR. Some a few hundred dollars that work the best and some around $30 that work "okay". But the option is there for you. I've used the TiVo Roamio for years for an OTA DVR. Guide, programmed recording, commercial skip, etc.

Do Youtube TV. I did sling for a while, used friends Hulu.... youtube tv is worth the little extra $$. You get local channels plus all the sports channels you will need. Rarely ever buffers.

Sling is garbage. I had sling for a little bit before I found Philo. Philo is better by far. I do miss football though. I would get Philo and then for the 3 or 4 months of football season. I'd get YouTube and cancel it afterwards.

Would be nice. I'm 160 feet below the hill that starts a block away from me and is between me and most local transmitters. I get unreliable signals. I'd buy the Amazon Recast DVR for OTA because I like some of the subchannels we get.
