And the one win was over Rutgers.

Remember how many people were flabbergasted how good Maryland looked? Locksley then morphed into UNM Locksley immediately after. Terrapins had a good coach in Canada.

Maryland looked pretty good last year beating Texas and nearly beating Ohio State in overtime. They made a serious mistake letting Matt Canada go. But the boosters wanted Mike Locksley, forgetting that he wasn't very successful as Randy Edsall's OC and Chief Recruiter, in the belief that he would persuade the DMV talent to remain home. Well...Locksley hasn't produced as a recruiter. Maryland's 2020 class is ranked 11th in the Big Ten and 50th nationwide.

Since being ranked in the Top 25, Syracuse has gone 4-7, and against a very soft schedule. The only good team they played was Clemson.

IIRC, last year Syracuse won 9 or 10 games, so they are a strong contender for the most disappointing team in the country this year.

Agreed... but it's not like we couldn't see it coming.

As for the OP - it's just Maryland being Maryland. They did stuff like that all the time when they were in the ACC (i.e. look like world-beaters in one or two games, then lose 3 or 4 that maybe they should've won).

Maryland and Rutgers are always gonna look bad in the B1G East division, unfortunately
