AAC - JoeNovak - 11-01-2019 07:20 PM

Anyone that still believes that the AAC isn’t a step up in competition from the MAC should just take a look at the top 25 rankings

#15 SMU
#17 Cincinnati
#24 Memphis

UCF was once ranked #15

Meanwhile the MAC has the following ranked opponents

Yep every conference is at least 1 step up from MAC this year

The true test is the Bowl Season. The MAC can only improve. I am pretty sure last year every school was an underdog and it showed.

RE: AAC - NIU75 - 11-01-2019 09:49 PM

We have beat this dead horse for how many years? Let it go, please.

RE: AAC - IWokeUpLikeThis - 11-02-2019 12:42 AM

Hopefully one day we’ll get an all-top 25 College Gameday MAC showdown like 2003 NIU @ BG again. That’s the dream.

RE: AAC - Red186 - 11-02-2019 08:41 AM

ACC is having it's best year and the MAC is having one of its worst.

SMU has a cupcake schedule. They played 3 G5s and an average TCU team in non-conference. They avoid both UCF and Cincinnati. Memphis and Navy will be their only true tests.

I think they have some good teams but I don't think any of them are great teams or will win a NY6 bowl.

No one does, they've played an easy schedule and barely beat a Houston team that has key players sitting out the season.

Clemson beat UNC by 1. We can do this all day.

And that means what? SMU played neither. Look what Ohio State did to Cincinnati, they would do that to SMU too.

RE: AAC - JHG722 - 11-02-2019 01:01 PM

I mean, SMU not being a top 5 team doesn't mean they aren't very good. They would absolutely destroy every single team in the MAC. It would be ugly.
