Pisses me off when I see people compare Boise potentially going undefeated with UCF. Boise won’t play anything in the same stratosphere of schedule as UCF in either 2017 or 2018.
I fear statements like this can hurt us in the eyes of the average fan because they just assume a MWC schedule is the same as an AAC schedule.

Hell, the guys on the Conference Realignment and Sports board will tell you the schedule is much tougher than ours.

Hell, the guys on the Conference Realignment and Sports board will tell you the schedule is much tougher than ours.
On another board, I was surprised to learn UH had played a schedule strength ranked at #22 (out of 130). Some of that has to do with the OOC, but some of it has to do with AAC teams having a higher overall strength rating than in the past.

they are having their best year in ages, and instead of using it to push themselves national they are fighting for 2nd class bones

Why say anything?? Why? What happens when Boise has a season and maybe beats a ranked BYU and MWC team along with 2 P5 teams. Chop yourself off at the knees.
While I don't always believe Aresco's P6 campain, I am glad he is pushing the narrative as it helps push the conference forward and sets expectations.

He might just be talking about this year. They inexplicably don't have a PAC12 team on the schedule, a below-average Florida State team is their only P5 game, and BYU is 2-4. If they had wins over Washington and Utah right now, he'd have something to complain about.

Last year was EXCEPTIONAL for the mwc - led by their top 3 - and coupled with a bad year for the AAC, they edged us out for the top performance $ from the CFP. Looking at Massey Composite rankings, last year was better except in their middle. (And AAC this year to date blows them both away overall)

A ways to go, but I actually think we will see those numbers improve. UConn taking down UMass would be nice and clench a .500 or better OOC record for every team. Navy still has two games that could boost the ratings quite a bit.

I like to look in two places before I start guessing about macro-level potential for a conference and its members to improve rankings overall or about a team being jumped in the CFP committee rankings - which do let a little data into their beauty pageant.
ESPN FPI includes a column of "Remaining SoS Rank" Taking the AAC teams and the mwc teams, only CSU comes in within the AAC's top half. SJSU's remaining SoS would rank eighth in the AAC. AAC schools #9-11 are mixed in with the top half of the mwc. Boise's remaining SoS is eighth in the mwc, and ahead of only ONE AAC school (who is one of the AAC contenders).
Massey's ratings (his own, not the composite) list strength of schedule to date and Full Strength of Schedule. One can look at SSF, but even more fun, look at which teams move up from SoS today to SSF and which move down. The AAC teams who played top 5 teams early in the OOC drop by a chunk, but the SoS of almost all the AAC contenders improve from today to the end of the season: Tulane, SMU, Memphis, Navy, Temple. Boise drops.
