Pretty excited for this game, ULM seems to have an explosive passing offense to test our newly discovered defense. Will be a good second test. Their QB is also a baller.

Josh Johnson leads the Sunbelt in rushing and is top 10 in the country with 712 yards rushing so far. He’s one to watch as well.

Us too! We are foregoing all Halloween traditions to be there and be loud for the boys as they get some serious payback for that debacle at The Ditch last year. The kids are not nearly as excited as I am, but this is a good lesson on sacrifice. LOL!

I have a feeling that the Louisiana game was just a good match-up for what App likes to do. ULM can throw the ball considerably better than can Louisiana and a more balanced offense has been what App has had trouble against this year.
But I don't think ULM will be able to stop App's offense like Louisiana did. Result will probably be similar to the Coastal game.

I think the hard, and hot, game Saturday caught up with us in the second half. The short week is brutal, especially with it being on the road. Viator said last night that they are giving the team the next 2 days off to rest and will start Sunday with practice/game prep. Got a few guys dinged up who could use that time. Defense stepped up last night. Let's see if they can do it 2 games in a row.

ULM has one of the more balanced offenses in the SBC and probably top 3 talents at skill positions with their QB, RB, and TEs. The mobile Evans and TEs scare me the most.

Let's give some credit to Texas State's offense here....they haven't improved much from Withers on that side of the ball.
Quarterback should be Spavital's number one priority in recruiting. Landing a quality guy who can really spin it, make good decisions, and develop would give them a True Freshman starter who could develop into that system. What they have now isn't working.

Texas State's defense gave a good blue print that App should be decent at replicating on defense. It's going to be a lot of what worked against Louisiana: zone defense, eyes on the backfield, flow to the ball. Simple but effective.

I was proud of our defense. We wrecked havoc on Texas St. backfield all night long and our D-line DOMINATED their O-line. We played the first half like we normally do, but you could tell the fatigue set in the second half and we slept walked through it. Should be a good game next week. I hope App is ranked so we have the ranked curse to help us out! LOL

The Halloween attendance against Wofford in 2008 was 31,000. I doubt App approaches that but if still undefeated, App will be ranked. That alone should get between 25,000 and 28,000 on hand.
