Scammer Choose Your Own Adventure - georgia_tech_swagger - 10-07-2019 02:58 PM

I got an email scam on the CSN support email. Nothing new. But they were clever enough to manipulate the email in a way that Google's GMail filters thought it was genuinely important. *squint*

So ... I'm going to have fun with this tool bag. Best reply gets sent back to the scammer. Let's string them along for our fun and amusement.

My failsafe reply sequence is going to be kind, gentle, loving ... senile, slow, incapable ... 110 year old.

"Megan, this is a terrific idea! How can I do that?"

RE: Scammer Choose Your Own Adventure - EverRespect - 10-07-2019 03:10 PM

Thank you so much! My customers were so happy with your generous deal that it has driven more traffic to my site. Since I am paid by clicks I need to give away a gift to lower my tax obligation, I would like to wire you a donation in the sum of $92,217.44. Please provide your Social Security number, bank account information, and online banking password and I will send you the money at the soonest.

Typing in bad "talk-text" might be a good one.

"Thank. You. So. Much. Dear. How. Do. I. Add. The. Page."

Paging James Veitch... Paging James Veitch... I believe there's a free toaster in this offer.

RE: Scammer Choose Your Own Adventure - gdunn - 10-07-2019 03:33 PM

Good Afternoon Megan,

While I appreciate your offer, you must know that any and all traffic I must report to the FBI since my message board has been under intense scrutiny since a known serial goat rapist posted here and even told us of his crimes. None of us believed him until another poster doxxed him and posted the news story from the local paper in Tennessee.

While I'm sure Sling TV is great I cannot do anything right now because my @ss is in a sling of it's own. I hope you understand.

Feel free to join our community here. I promise your goats are safe.

Sincerely,

GTS

Megan, I have researched SlingTV and what you're offering looks great but the problem is you're focusing on the things in life that don't really matter. When I was a kid I had hopes and dreams. We all did. But over time, the daily grind gets in the way and you miss the things that really matter, even though they are right in front of you, staring you in the face. I think the next time you should ask yourself "Am I on the right track here?". I don't mean to be rude but people like you I really pity. So maybe you could use the few brain cells you have and take advantage of the knowledge I have given you now. Good luck.

Megan,

A woman once tried to scam me online, I ate her liver with some fava beans and a nice chianti. You aren't a scammer, are you?

LOL. I think you could actually get arrested for that one.

No body, no crime.

I've done that before, string them along and keep asking clueless questions. In your case, maybe you have access to a throw-away URL and could reply several times then seem frustrated and say "Here's a link to my site/page. Please look at it and explain to me what I need to do.", then Ric roll 'em. (R.I.P.)

Ms. Mulrain,

Thank you so much for reaching out to me. I would be interested in discussing ways that we could pursue this relationship further. I am actively pursuing growing my site's revenue stream. Could you send me information on how traffic from my site would be compensated? I think your product would be a perfect fit with the demographics of my site's traffic.

Please get back to me at your earliest convenience,

GTS

Dear Ms. Mulrain

We have hundreds of singles on our site who are looking to hook up. I’m giving your first month free, (normally a $19.99 value) and just a low low price of $9.99 each month after that, but you better hurry, this deal won’t last long.

RE: Scammer Choose Your Own Adventure - georgia_tech_swagger - 10-15-2019 02:05 PM

I went with a hybrid response ... let's start sucking away their time.

I think now I'm going to make it misfire horribly for her. I'm going to unapprove the thread she wants to tamper with so it appears like it's now invalid. And think I'll send this unless somebody has better:

Quote:Ms Mulrain,

When I added your code to the page it generated this error: "503 INTERNAL SERVER ERROR: INVALID XML-JSON SCHEMA. SERVER SHUTTING DOWN." Now the page is gone entirely! HELP!!
