****Official CUSA Bowl Projections Thread 12/8/19**** - TTT - 10-07-2019 11:36 AM

ESPN's Projections 10/7/19

Bonagura:
EMU vs. UAB - Bahamas Bowl
Cincinnati vs. UNT - Frisco Bowl
LT vs. Fresno State - NM Bowl
Ark. State vs. Southern Miss - NOLA Bowl
FAU vs. TCU - First Responder's Bowl
UAB vs. Memphis - Bham Bowl

Schlabach:
FAU vs. EMU - Bahamas Bowl
WKU vs. SDSU - NM Bowl
La Tech vs. ULL - NOLA Bowl
UAB vs. UCF - Gasparilla Bowl
WVU vs Southern Miss - First Responder's Bowl

Note: Bonagra has UAB playing in TWO bowl games. Shows how much they pay attention at ESPN. Also, I find it odd that Schlabach doesn't have North Texas bowling...

I can't even put into words how much I'd like to play WVU in a bowl. Not because they are in a P5 conference, but because my wife went to Marshall and mostly, because I've met enough of their fans.

We would both bring a ton of fans to New Orleans and the game falls on a Saturday. I hope this is how it plays out.

247 Sports Bowl Projections 10/6/19:

La Tech vs App State - NOLA Bowl
UNT vs SDSU - NM Bowl
EMU vs. FAU - Bahamas Bowl
Temple vs FIU - Gasparilla Bowl
UAB vs. SMU - Frisco Bowl
Marshall vs Arizona - First Responder's Bowl

247 has probably the most unrealistic bowl projections. They project 2-3 FIU to go bowling but 3-2 USM staying home. I realize it's dumb to fret about early bowl projections but I'd love to hear the rationale behind this lol.

I'd rather play (insert a P5 or AAC team) instead.

The NOLA bowl would love to have USM vs ULL.

If they could, those bowl officials would have a standing invite for USM and ULL year in and year out.

We know, but I am trying to be realistic of the bowls our fans will actually attend and that we can win. I don't just look at the conference patch on the opposing uniform.

They probably just forgot. I doubt they are putting too much time into the projections for the bottom tier bowls. Look at how 247 handle the player rankings for kids committed to G5 teams. They just give every player 3 stars. 247 is joke site.

One is actually supposed to be the Bahamas Bowl. That's a type on my part. BUT I just checked again and Bonagura has UAB playing in TWO bowl games. Sigh...they put zero effort into these...

Don't know whether to laugh or be angry. But anyway: Yeah, ESPN barely even knows which teams are in our league.

Considering we play at Miami(FL) in 2020 that would be an interesting bowl to have this year.

At this point I don't have us in a bowl.

It's truly disappointing what a monumental waste Littrell has been to Mason Fine's senior season up until this point. I don't think we recover if we go into Hattiesburg and lose.

I think it's safe to say that whoever loses this game Saturday will have a depressed/upset fan base while the other will be very upbeat and motivated. Both are in year 4 of their head-coach, their players, their system. Both fan bases feel like their team hasn't lived up to it's potential. This game is very crucial to the future of each program IMO. Having a new AD at USM (and missing out on a bowl game, let alone not even competing for a west title), Hop knows he's under pressure to perform. We'll see what happens...

Probably the best quote/status of this matchup that matters

Sporting News Bowl Projections 10/7/19:

Southern Miss vs. WMU - Bahamas Bowl
La Tech vs SDSU - NM Bowl
MTSU vs Temple - Boca Raton Bowl (I thought CUSA didn't have this bowl this year??)
WKU vs App State - NOLA Bowl
UAB vs Memphis - Gasparilla Bowl

Another projection with no FAU, UNT, or Marshall.

I think this hurts them a lot more if they lose this game and have an average season. They pay their coaching staff millions more than we pay ours and they have a great QB that may leave the school with zero conference championships.
