Miami was down 44 to 10 in the 2nd against UMass in 2014 and came back to win 45-44. Not quite as dramatic, but we did it to snap a 21 game losing streak.

Maryland/Miami way back in 1984. Down 31-0 at halftime the Terps came back to win 42-40.

Yep. King of the biggest comebacks in NFL and College Football.

IMO last night was the biggest comeback ever. Because unlike in the other cases, WST actually scored 14 more points. UCLA had to score 50 to win not 35.

Maryland hadn't scored at all vs Miami in 1984. Miami was at the time of the game 8-2 and #6 in the country. Far better team than Washington State.

I am a Maryland fan and watched that game. Greatest comeback at that time, but last night's was clearly better. More points in less time.

Miami finished 8-5 that year, easily the worst Miami team of their dynasty years. We'll see where WST finishes up.

Still finished #17. Will be shocked if WSU finishes that highly.

one thing looking at Miami for some guidance... after they lost to Maryland, they definitely had a hangover. didn't win again...

looking at WSU's schedule... @ Utah, @ Arizona St, Colorado, @ Oregon, and @ Cal are their next 5 games. If they have any sort of hangover, that schedule is not easy at all..

That was a great collapse/comeback.

I am now convinced no team in the P12 is top 20 except maybe Washington or Oregon.

Also Big 12 should be on alert. There is a new contender for the worst P5 defensive conference.

Miami finished #18 in the AP poll and unranked in the Coaches poll, which at the time went to 20. We shall see where WSU ends up.

IIRC, the very next week after that loss to Maryland, or shortly thereafter in any event, Miami lost to BC on the Flutie hail mary pass, which historically has overshadowed it. Watched that game too.

Scored 40+ the last 3 games and went 0-3.

As I recall, when Texas beat Oklahoma St. 56-35 in 2004 after trailing 35-7 going into the final minute of the first half, it was the 3rd biggest comeback ever. Think it was Maryland/Miami and a game involving NCSU that were bigger.

On the other hand, Mike Leach was the losing coach. That's like adding 2 extra quarters to the game. He doesn't know how to run clock.

Miami was the defending National Champions and was 8-2 in 1984.

Still kicking myself that I turned in at 11 PM and didn't watch the second half.

I know that mine is a minority opinion, but I watched that game and I just think it’s terrible football.

Like really, really terrible football.

The defensive effort of both teams was so horrible all night long that it was difficult to watch and stay engaged — at least for me it was. I understand that nobody’s going to admit that out loud, but everyone knows I’m telling the truth.

Everyone talks about how exciting and how amazing it was. For me, watching two teams that are that incompetent defensively is just as frustrating and boring as watching two teams who are inept on offense. I just can’t stand that kind of football. I honestly think it’s a rotten pile of hot garbage.
