This is NOT a personal knock on Bill, but I've come to expect the same from all Cowboys fans.
They get all wild in the pre-season and after the first couple games of the season. When things go awry (which is every year since the mid 90's), they typically slink away until next September with the same entertaining promises.

Yep fellas, I really thought it was our year, but I was wrong the way it looks now. We have no discipline and it showed big. And, our defense isn't what I thought it was going to be to this point. I should be thrilled with a playoff appearance at this point the way we are playing.

Honestly, I'm quite surprised Garrett has lasted as long as he has in Dallas. Jerry Jones fired much better coaches for much less.

That's the only logical explanation I could come up with as well. Jones had finally found the guy that would bend to whatever he wanted and would be "Jerry on the sideline" and Jones could pretend he's not as involved in the inner workings of the football operations as he really is. IMO, Jones and Dan Snyder are the worst owners in football. Mark Cuban is a similar personality in the NBA.

Hell yeah. We are a non-contending team but at least we get the next 12 games to see if Darnold is a for real franchise QB. And to evaluate whether Gase has any endearing qualities....

Eh, I’m on the lower end for how we’ll finish. 6–10 sounds about right. Vegas had our O/U at 7.5 wins prior to the season. THEN Darnold got mono, lol. 1-4 is a tough hole to dig out of to get all the way to 8-8.
