Again, completely different game. Throws were pretty much all deep bombs and DB’s could basically mug the receivers.

Namath, except for one game, was not even one of the greatest QBs of his time. There's been a huge argument against him being a HOFer.

Not one person who saw Namath play or played with him would even try to argue against Namath as a HOFer. Before 1978 he was the only QB to put up a 4,000+ yard season. He was voted to 5 Pro Bowls by his peers (this was before the fans had a say). That destroys your argument that he wasn’t “one of the best of his time”. He would have gone to more if not for his bad knees. And while he’s best known for Super Bowl III, he was stuck on some awful Jets teams. Namath’s contemporaries revered him.

And as for that “1 game”, it was the most important victory in NFL history. So, yeah, it’s natural to think that was a big part of his HOF resume. That doesn’t take anything away from his career accomplishments.

Yep, SB MVP who didn't throw a TD. Didn't throw a single pass in the 4th quarter. While Matt Snell ran for 121 yards. Scored their only TD. And helped set up all 3 of their field goals. But sure. Broadway Joe was the hero. 04-rock

Wow. Are you a Baltimore Colts fan or something? Sheesh.

You didn’t even bother trying to respond to the other points. I’ll accept your surrender on this one.

Yes, I do concede. I like your points. And I did see him play. But I do find it amusing that you may have, for the first time, argued against statistics.

If you go back to my posts using Flutie and Tebow, you should see that you are arguing my point. Namath fits my argument. But I still think Snell should have been the MVP. I'm old enough to have watched that game. It's just my opinion, but that's the bottom line. Because Stone Cold said so. Oops, wrong venue.

I think Namath got the MVP partly because of the guarantee, but also partly because he was the play-caller. He saw the Colts' weakness and exploited it. He could have tried to chuck the ball all over the field like he was used to doing in the AFL, but that wouldn't have worked. Thus, they took down 18-point favorites.

Just a thought.

We will see. Defense is nasty and can keep them in games. With Cam out, they have a chance to keep the offense rolling. Don't sleep on the Panthers.

They certainly have a better chance as long as Cam stays out. Panthers D is 10th in the league right now. The few decent teams they have played scored some points.

Before today our D was 4th in total yards. Offense was 17th. Haven't seen an update.

Panthers aren’t bad, they’ve had some key injuries other than Cam and are still in the playoff hunt. If they get healthy, watch out.

C Mac is a stud. No if ands or buts about it. They could pile up some wins, their schedule is pretty weak looking at it. Can they get by the Tampa juggernaut they lost too in the first game next week? Sorry, just don't think they are that good. I know that goes against popular opinion here.

I think they're right about middle of the pack as of now. I can definitely understand why you think they're bad. They could've easily lost the last two games, but they've made plays when they had to. There's just something about the vibe of the team that I like since Kyle Allen took over. They play freely and really look to be having fun out there. They have a favorable schedule coming up and if Trai Turner and Donte Jackson come back, I think they have decent shot at making the playoffs. I wouldn't be surprised if it goes the other way, but we shall see.
