Got beat by a backup QB.

Smh.

And Teddy did everything he could to hand the Cowboys that game.

Dak sucks. And Dallas will only go as far as he takes them.

Heard them talking about it this morning on Golic and Wingo(they agree with me). That was a borderline flag. Allen didn't give himself up and the helmet contact was not really intentional. That type of contact happens all the time with running backs, and that's essentially what he was on that play. That said, it happened and he got a flag. Let's not act like he was targeting like Burfict. Buff D is legit. It's been a long time since i remember a D completely stifling them the entire game. After the first 5 minutes, it looked like the rout was on. You may be right about the Pats D, been a long time since they have had a D this good.

In all honesty, I'm a homer here. I'm 95% still angry about it because it was the Bills' QB.

Also, I hate the Patriots. Always will.

Burfict is a POS and shouldn't be in the league anymore. It's guys like him, Suh and others that if the NFL goes away... it would be because of them and the way they play.

This was a bad week for the NFL in regards to helmet to helmet hits. Thursday nights game had 2 bad ones, the first of which by Barnett that should've been targeting but they allowed him to stay in the game. There was a nasty hit in the Rams Bucs game too. I know we see these types of hits all the time, but this past week just seemed a bit worse to me. Made me even more ready for basketball season.

Not even close on your opinion about Barkley running the offense. You've lost your mind. On the drive Allen was hit on, he was moving the offense down the field again. Might I remind you that Allen is the only QB in the league to orchestrate a drive and score on the Patriots defense in 4 games.

Barkley couldn't hit open receivers at all, which is why we couldn't score once Allen was out. Allen is easily the better QB of the two. He's a threat with his legs and his arm. His struggles yesterday were a testament to the Patriots' defense. I'd be willing to bet that there's a real possibility that the Patriots and Bills defenses could be ranked 1 and 2 at the end of the season. They're both nasty good.

LEt me clarify, i didn't say he was a better QB. But, Allen had that one good drive and had 3 equally terrible INTs. Barkley was moving the ball, twice.
Barkley had a higher completion % 9 of 16 and had 127 yards vs. 13-28- 157(many came on that one drive) in 1/3 of the time played. I thought your offense was moving better and more fluid on the last two drives of the game. Also, not sure why they didn't go to Gore more, we had no answer.

Allen is a 2nd half QB. The majority of his bad passes that led to INTs were in the first half. That's been his thing all season. Not saying I like his slow starts, but he has consistently showed improvement in the 2nd half all season.

I'm not sure why he kept taking those deep shots down field. There's a reason we picked up Cole Beasley, and that's what they went to with Barkley in the game and what Allen should've been going to as well. There were also a couple shorter routes where John Brown was wide open and he chose to go down field. It's just a matter of a young QB that is learning how to make better decisions, but the future in Buffalo is bright with him... as long as he learns how to slide!

Yikes, you actually seem to believe that Josh Allen can be something in this league. He's a running back who throws sometimes, dude. Accuracy problems never get fixed in the pros. You need to be completing at least 60 % of your throws to succeed in this league. He didn't even hit 60 % over his college career.

He's basically a very poor man's Cam Newton, and we all know how Cam's career has gone downhill due to too many hits.

(09-30-2019 01:52 PM)Seahawkhoops Wrote:  I agree with all that. He definitely has a bright future.

Not really, no. He'll always run too much to compensate for his poor arm, and that will rack up injuries for him over the years. You have to be able to throw from the pocket in this league. And when you run, you have to be safe at all times. Problem is there's no way to guarantee that, and some guys just can never adjust and slide/get out of bounds/throw it away when needed.

RE: 2019 NFL Regular Season - Seahawkhoops - 09-30-2019 02:49 PM

He's been at 63, 64, 65% in games prior to yesterday. And has taken a giant leap up (10%) or more from his games last year. His poor arm? Yikes, lets not mix poor arm with accuracy. The dude has a cannon. He'll learn to get it out of bounds, just as i'd hope he'll learn to get down instead of leaving himself open for shots like yesterday. I don't think you are giving the kid nearly enough credit.

Many think he's in the top 5 in the league arm strength....

Obviously by "poor arm" I was talking about inaccuracy, not arm strength. A cannon means very little if you can't put the ball in spots you need to.

This Jets fan witnessed Josh Allen turn the ball over 4 times in awful fashion, and only won the game because of his defense and Darnold having an unfortunate virus. Allen's career TD/INT ratio is 13:18, which is just as concerning as his lack of accuracy.

Just trying to prepare you for the pain my man. It's hard to accept when a QB is not a franchise guy.

If Allen succeeds he'll literally be doing something that no QB has ever done since the AFL/NFL merger: Succeed in the NFL despite a sub-60 % completion % in college. The odds are firmly against him.

To show I'm not being biased here, I'm not sold on Darnold. But he at least has a shot at being a franchise guy. Allen....no shot.

LOL. Just giving you some smack sauce there pal. I feel your pain as a fellow AFC Easter.

We'll see how it shakes out. One thing is for sure, as Allen is moving through his first few seasons as a starter he definitely needs a high octane defense to assist him. I'm glad the Bills aren't lacking there, but you're right it does tend to shade off the notable inconsistencies and what happens when the defense has a bad week or someone like Rex Ryan comes in and takes apart a perfectly working machine to try and fix something.

[Insert super defensive response from Hoops for me daring to call the Patriots cheaters here]

Oh... you mean like this past Sunday when Bills coach Sean McDermott had Belichick's son ("assistant coach") and another individual associated with the Patriots escorted back to their locker room because the Bills were on the field conducting pre-game warmups?

Yep that would be yet another instance.

08 you continued to harp on his sub 60 yet every game this year except Sunday he was closer to 65. I really find it hard how you can flat out say that a guy that’s shown promise and improvement from year 1 can’t be a franchise qb. Only 1 time in Brady’s first 6 years was he closer to 65% than 60.
