I can set up a site for everybody to pick the winners on espn. I can set team name uncwsports or caasports. Let me know what you think the season starts a week from today.

This thread is being temporarily "unstuck" to the main threads line to see if any more of you have the man/lady parts to challenge TKE and I.

See above from TKE... he created a game for all of us in ESPN's NFL Pick 'Em games. Hoops says he might join today.

Week 1 starts tonight. I don't want to have to beat TKE all by my lonesome. Just sayin...

In the most shocking news ever, Cam Newton still sucks

That is not possible. I was told that Ryan Pace should be fired for not signing him this offseason.

Ha! I wasn't a fan when he was here and thought it was a terrible signing for the pats. He has the talent, and can have good games(look at Seattle) but he just can't put it all together on a regular basis.

Thoughts on the games?
Two things from the NFL Ship. A, i can't believe Rodgers forced it into double coverage Vs. running for what looked like a wide open score. B. Kick a damn FG when you have the Goat on the other side with 2 mins left?

RE: 2019-2020 NFL Regular Season - B_Hawk06 - 01-25-2021 02:02 PM

A. There were two mistakes on that drive for the Packers. One by Rodgers (not running the ball into the corner for the TD), and one on the coach calling to go for a FG. That was magnificently dumb. You have the likely league MVP behind center. It doesn't matter if he's failed on the first three downs. You don't take the ball out of his hands with the game on the line, less than 3 min to play inside the 10 yard line. What makes that call even more shocking is when he was asked in the post game press conference if Rodgers will return next season and he heaps a bunch of "MVP" this and that. WTF man? Your defense was going to have to go out there and make a stop regardless. You try to tie the game. Instead, you gave the ball to Brady with much less pressure. Instead of having to force his team down the field to win, all he has to do is manage the clock and not lose. Way less pressure there. Of the two major mistakes on that drive by both guys, I'd have to put more emphasis on LaFleur's than Rodgers.

B. The Bills/Chiefs game. Look, nobody expected the Bills to be in the AFC championship this year. Everyone expected them to win the AFC East. Nobody expected them to sweep the entire division for the first time in team history. They were expected to "hopefully" win a playoff game this year. They went in and did that daggum thing and put themselves in the conference championship against what is potentially one of the greatest offensive teams in the history of the game. The Chiefs have a crap ton of weapons on offense. Their defense is no slouch either. The Bills are a tough team, and I expect they'll learn from the experience and get stronger. McDermott is turning into a damn good coach! However, they'll have to make some changes to compete with a team like KC. I'm not sold on Leslie Frazier as a DC. To me, the Bills defense was problematic this year and put the Bills into too many close games. He's got to be able to adjust and throw in some different schemes. He relies way too much on a soft zone. A team like KC will kill you like that. Of the Bills 4 total losses on the season, KC accounted for 2 of them. End of the day though, it's a great time to be a Bills fans. A lot of fun things happening, and it all revolves around the improvement at the QB position. I have a funny feeling that Buffalo is going to be an attractive spot for free agents from now until Allen either leaves Buffalo (hopefully not) or retires.

Allen was accurate with one thing yesterday, he sure hit the guy right in the dome :)

Completely agree with you on the mistakes in the GB game. LAfluer gets a lot of pub as a great young coach, he should get equal criticism for his epically dumb game management yesterday.

I thought it was funny. Especially when Okafor got up and stood over top of him then our lineman absolutely smoked him. To me, that truly shows how much his team respects him and will go to bat for him. They weren't gonna let someone punk him. Was it a mental mistake by Allen, sure. But he just got slammed to the ground well after the whistle while being torn apart by KC all game. Those things happen. He'll do better. But, the Bills are a dang fun team to watch play... even when they take a loss.

Was interesting to see Diggs out there, all alone in the endzone, taking in the KC celebration......
